Why do we sometimes take jokes seriously?

Sometimes, we will inadvertently say something that is divorced from the truth, especially when we are with the closest people. These words may be said in a joking tone, but the real feelings behind them are very real.

I once told some jokes to the people closest to me, but behind those jokes, there were some truths. Once, I went shopping with my friends. I tried on a very beautiful dress. When I asked her what she thought, she jokingly said, "You look like a bear Haizi!" " We laughed together, but her words made me a little depressed. I always felt that I was a little clumsy and not elegant enough, so this joke touched my deep anxiety.

A few days later, I sat and chatted with her. She asked me how I was recently, and I told her that I was a little insecure and my appearance was not good enough. She listened to me. She never thought I would have such an idea. She told me that I am a very smart, kind and brave person, and my appearance is not important. She also told me that one of her favorite things is being with me, because I can always make her happy.

I feel very warm after listening to her words. I know she didn't mean to hurt me, she was only joking. However, her words also made me understand one thing: the people closest to us are the ones who can see our true hearts. They know our weaknesses and can give us the most sincere support and help.

I think it is very important to share the truth with those closest to us. With their support and understanding, we can face our own problems and shortcomings more firmly and confidently. Even if we have told some truth in a joking tone, don't be afraid to say it again, because our closest people can always understand us and give us help and support.
