Hunan Industrial Vocational and Technical College, formerly known as Hunan Industrial School, was founded in 1955. 1999, Hunan Machinery Industry Bureau Staff College merged with Hunan Machinery Industry School and was upgraded to Hunan Industrial Vocational and Technical College.
