After watching "Psychic Detective"

Recently, I watched a movie "Psychic Detective" on Tencent Video. The movie tells the story of two people who have the ability to know what has happened before or what will happen to them by touching or looking at an object or person. It’s a story about men with special abilities battling wits and courage. Before talking about my feelings, let’s first introduce the main plot of the film.

The film opens with a story about several serial murders that occurred in a city in the United States. The strange thing is that the deceased died peacefully and there were no signs of struggle. After careful investigation by the police, the police found that the deceased in these homicide cases had a common characteristic, that is, the victims all suffered from an incurable disease.

Detective Joe remembered John, a psychic detective who had solved cases with him before. He had a very deep memory of John's special abilities, so he persuaded Detective Catherine, a psychologist who did not believe in ghosts and gods, to go and invite him with him. John.

But at this time, John was immersed in the grief of losing his beloved daughter and was unwilling to come out. After several persuasion from Joe, John finally agreed to help Joe investigate these bizarre murders.

During the ongoing investigation, John discovered the murderer (because the murderer’s method of killing was very simple and crude, always hitting the victim’s neck with an iron pendant, and there was no blood after death, so Just give him a cold name: Zhui Ming Wu Xue) is very scary. In fact, the information they investigated was deliberately let them know by Zhu Ming Wu Xue, and their every move is monitored by Zhu Ming Wu Xue's ability. The following, in other words, are all within the precise prediction range of Chasing Life without Blood. John felt the seriousness of the situation. He was afraid and decided to withdraw from the investigation team. Joe had to persuade him again.

You know, it is impossible for the protagonist to leave so early. John couldn't resist Joe's persuasion, so he had to bite the bullet and investigate again.

It must be said that they are not vegetarians. During the investigation, John finally discovered some clues. Of course, Zhui Ming Wu Xue also discovered this, so he took the initiative to meet John in a bar.

Zhui Ming Wu Xue told John why he wanted to kill these people with incurable diseases. His reason was to save these people from serious illness. Of course, John denounced his behavior of taking other people's lives at will regardless of their wishes.

In the subsequent storyline, the two psychics each used their own strengths and faced each other tit for tat. Finally, John used a clever trick to kill Zhui Ming Wu Xue, and the film basically came to an end.

In fact, in addition to the plots described above, there are some other stories that happened:

The first is that before John met Chasing Wuxue, detectives Joe and Catherine were chasing a murderer together. Unfortunately, he was shot, and when he was examined at the hospital, it was discovered that Joe was actually terminally ill.

The second is John himself. At the end of the film John recalls his daughter's death. It turned out that his daughter, who was not yet ten years old, was suffering from leukemia and was in agony in bed. Even though John had the ability to see the future, he was unable to do anything. Unable to bear his daughter's continued pain, he had no choice but to endure the heartache and inject his daughter with drugs that would accelerate her death to avoid her daughter's death. Due to the pain, his wife could not stop his behavior and had to divorce him angrily.

After watching this movie, I think the movie told me two truths: first, in reality, everyone has secrets; second, everyone has their own position, even if this position is for the public hatred.

John’s opponent Wu Xue assassinated people with incurable diseases in order to save them from the pain. No matter whether they were adults, children or old people, as long as he knew about it, he would kill them. Kill them at a certain moment, and the method is clean and neat, there will not even be bleeding, and the patient will die peacefully.

But this is still killing, and what he does is hateful. Regardless of people or other things, as long as they are alive, they all want to live a little longer. If they are alive, there is still a glimmer of hope in their hearts. Chasing life without blood will directly kill this last glimmer of hope. This approach can certainly be done. Let the patient be cured in one go, but it is not in line with human ethics and the principles of the cycle of heaven.

In turn, John recalled that the cause of his daughter's death was actually poisoned by him with drugs. This shows that John's inner thoughts still overlap with the idea of ??pursuing life without blood. However, the pursuit of life is even more horrifying, but if you think about it carefully, is John's approach advisable? Is this what his daughter thinks?

I think this should be the most thoughtful and contradictory place for us. Everything has two sides. It is unforgivable that both psychics killed people. I think John, who is solving the case, must be struggling more internally, right?
