Idealism and perfectionism are not the same thing

Idealism, in layman's terms, is a pursuit based on faith. Idealism must be centered on the spiritual level, but it does not exclude matter. This word is not fashionable. Idealism and faith are closely linked. Where there is faith, idealism will be formed, and where there is no faith, idealism will be rare. People who have faith and pursuit are generally called idealists. At present, the mainstream social thought treats idealists as jokes, and words such as fantasy and unrealistic can be compared with idealism, which is actually wrong. There are two kinds of people's pursuit, one is spiritual pursuit and the other is material pursuit. Spiritual pursuit is satisfied by spiritual products, while material pursuit is satisfied by material products. But in modern society, people often do not set up a spiritual pursuit, and people often satisfy their spiritual pursuit through disguised and curvilinear material pursuit. Without spiritual idealism, people will lose their faith and lose themselves. This reflects unhealthy social beliefs. Now the society must establish the idealism that was destroyed in the past, which is an indispensable part of building a harmonious society.

Perfectionism-another synonym for fantasy. There is nothing perfect in the world. Even the axioms on which science depends always have such assumptions and such premises. However, the utopian assumption of perfection is the source of power to push forward many people in the world through the ages. It is precisely because it exists in our hearts that our chaotic society has become more orderly and can be pushed forward by the iron arm of civilization. Perfection can represent a kind of holiness to some extent, but a perfectionist who always pursues perfection will be dissatisfied with many things and think that he is more or less defective and has all reasons to change.
