How did the Monkey King die in Journey to the West?
Look at the 57th journey to the west. It is said that "Liu Er Macaque" turned into the Monkey King, wounded Tang Priest, and then fought with the Monkey King. . . Needless to say, this fake the Monkey King is as good as the real the Monkey King. He had a fight with the Monkey King and went to sea. In the Tang priest's place: when chanting, both of them shouted pain, so naturally they couldn't tell which was true and which was false; When I arrived at the Heavenly Palace, the King of Tower took a demon mirror and couldn't see it. Go to Guanyin again: Guanyin can't see. Finally, I went to the netherworld of Yamaraja. I listened attentively and said, "I can see it, but I dare not say it." . .
Finally, Tathagata Lafayette revealed Liu Er's true identity and covered it with a golden alms bowl, only to be killed by the Monkey King with a stick.
This is the whole story, seemingly simple and complete, but I found a great foreshadowing.
Let's assume that Wukong was killed and Liu Er was alive. I'm not talking nonsense. It makes sense. Here are some of my theories:
A, Liu Ermacaque and the Monkey King are exactly the same, no one can tell, even if the Tathagata lied to everyone that Liu Ermacaque is really Wukong, and this lie, only the Tathagata knows the truth, the real the Monkey King, he is just a dumb person eating Huanglian.
Second, Liu Er's macaque is probably arranged by Tathagata. As we all know, the Monkey King is a rebel, and Tathagata is the supreme ruler of the Western Heaven. Which ruler would allow a rebel to live in this world? Besides, as we all know, the Monkey King has always been disrespectful to Tathagata. So the Tathagata will try to destroy the Monkey King. Of course, you can't kill the Monkey King directly, so there is an identical Wukong who kills the Monkey King invisibly. There is evidence.
1: For example, in the underworld, after listening carefully, you know the truth clearly, but you dare not say it. His idea is definitely not to be afraid that the two Wukong will make a scene in the underworld, but that this Liu Er macaque has a strong background, that is, Tathagata. So "listening" naturally dares not tell the truth.
Secondly, it can be proved that "listening attentively" is not really afraid of two monkeys making a scene in hell. As we all know, there was also a powerful person present at that time. Not Yamaraja, of course. Compared with this man, Yamaraja is a world apart. This man is the "King Earth Treasure Bodhisattva". Who is the "King Earth Treasure Bodhisattva"? He is the first of the four Buddhists, as well as Guanyin and Wen Wen. Since there are so many Buddhists here, are you worried that these two Po Hou will find trouble with the underworld?
Thirdly, as we all know, the Monkey King's master is the "Bodhi founder". Who is the "Bodhi Patriarch"? There is a clue in the list of gods that there are many disciples of "Hunkun Zu Shi", and the two disciples that make him most proud are Tathagata (also known as "Taoist who keeps himself hidden") and Bodhi Zu Shi (also known as "Taoist who is allowed to mention"). . .
A bold idea, since the two saints are brothers, and there is a slight mention in the book of gods, that the second disciple must mention the Taoist priest (that is, the bodhi ancestor). I don't know what happened with the Taoist priest (Tathagata) during this period, but they mysteriously disappeared and have never heard of it again. This is a powerful clue to prove the contradiction between the two.
Then back to the Monkey King, the Monkey King happened to be the disciple of Bodhi. When did the Tathagata meet the apprentice of his former enemy and have earth-shattering skills, and have to wait until he tried his best to get rid of it?
Fourth, The Journey to the West tells the story of the Monkey King's miraculous power after learning a spell from Bodhi. Coincidentally, Liu Er, a macaque pretending to be the Monkey King, has the same magic as the Monkey King, and even looks and sounds alike? Is this a coincidence? As we all know, the Monkey King only learned seventy-two changes and somersaults for a few years. It is impossible for Liu Er macaque to be born with this ability without learning and skills, right? There must be someone from the Monkey King's school. Bodhi is naturally not one of them, because since the old man has such a sentient and righteous apprentice as the Monkey King, why did he build a Liu Er macaque against the Monkey King? Therefore, there is only one person who instructed Liu Er's macaque to confront the Monkey King, and that is the elder brother of Bodhi's father Tathagata.
Five, back to the fifty-eighth time in The Journey to the West, it was said that two monkeys came here to argue whether the Tathagata was true or not. . . The Tathagata said to the Buddhas, "I think the fake Wukong is a 62-year-old macaque. If this monkey stands in one place, it can know things thousands of miles away, and so can ordinary people. Therefore, I am good at listening, observing reason, and knowing the past and the future. Liu Er's macaque is also a homonym of the real Wukong.
After Tathagata said this sentence, many Buddhas knew that there was such a "Liu Er Monkey" among all sentient beings in the world, but readers in The Journey to the West ignored a clue in Tathagata's sentence: Tathagata means that this monkey is different from the Monkey King, and the Monkey King is a "Ling Ming boulder", which will change into a star if we know the time and place. Liu Er's macaque, on the other hand, "knows everything and says everything". It's amazing to know what happened in the past and in the future. This is a big flaw! ! ! Since Liu Er's macaque knew that his future would be surrendered by Tathagata and killed by the Monkey King, why did he argue with the Monkey King in Tathagata? Isn't that asking for it? So, there is only one possibility. Tathagata has been arranged. Under his explanation, all Buddhists thought that Liu Ermacaque was the "real monkey", but the real monkey was regarded as "Liu Ermacaque", surrendered by the Tathagata, and then killed with a stick.
"Liu Er Macaque" was killed, and Tathagata, who has always been merciful, has no intention of blaming him. He just folded his hands and said, "OK, OK!" . . . As we all know, with the Tathagata's ability, when the "Monkey King" tried to kill "Liu Er Macaque" with a stick, Tathagata was easily rescued. Obviously, Tathagata's original intention was to let him die. "Liu Er Macaque" didn't have much sin, but had a big fight with the Monkey King. Why did the merciful Tathagata let him die? I thought the Monkey King had made trouble with the Dragon Palace, the underworld and the Heavenly Palace, but Tathagata had not let him die. How could "Liu Er Macaque" have to die because of such a small mistake? There must be something hidden in this. So the secret is that the Tathagata is really going to be put to death by the Monkey King, and the one who was killed by a stick happens to be the real the Monkey King.
Six, you will feel that the Monkey King has not been deleted from the book of life and death, and has eaten so many flat peaches and pills. He can live forever and have an indestructible body. How did he get killed so easily? Perhaps only the Tathagata knows this. It is conceivable that since Tathagata was able to crush the Monkey King on the Five-Star Mountain, although the Monkey King can't be killed now, there are certainly ways to make the Monkey King disappear forever.
Seven, back to the Monkey King's master "bodhi". According to The Journey to the West, the Monkey King got into a lot of trouble after the trouble in the Heavenly Palace, so he had to follow Tang Priest to learn Buddhist scriptures in the West. When he was in trouble, he went back to his long-lost master, Bodhi, and only talked with the Monkey King from a distance, but never met him. Why is this? Presumably, after the Monkey King made a scene in the sky with the skills taught by "Bodhi Patriarch", the Tathagata will also be aware of it, and it is certain that seventy-two changes and somersault clouds are the same magic. As I said just now, Bodhi's founder and Tathagata once lived in seclusion because of some contradictions. If the Tathagata sees the Monkey King's skill, he must know that this skill must have been eaten by Bodhi's father, so it is natural to pursue this long-lost enemy. Therefore, after learning that the Monkey King had caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace, Bodhi's ancestor had disappeared without a trace to prevent unnecessary troubles. . .
But then again, Bodhi is no less capable than Tathagata, which can be seen from the eighth journey to the West. . . There is a passage in it, such as: "I am Xi Niu He Zhou, I am not greedy and I don't kill, I nourish my spirit, although I am not real, everyone will live a long life." Attention, everyone. For example, "Cow's River State is not true", which just shows that Bodhi can escape the Buddha's eyes when giving lectures in Cow's River State, indicating that Bodhi is no worse than Buddha.
Eight, have you found that before the true and false Monkey King happened, the Monkey King didn't fully listen to Tang Yan's words, and sometimes there were even minor contradictions, which led to Tang Yan's having to read a spell, a typical rebellious image. But since the true and false Monkey King happened, the Monkey King has protected Tang Priest ever since. It can be seen from this incident that the Monkey King is completely different before and after. It is not excluded that the Monkey King has been unknown to the Tathagata in the battle of using Liu Er's macaque.
