Chaoshan dialect in Chaoshan culture

The language in Chaoshan area is Chaozhou dialect, also known as Chaoshan dialect, which belongs to Minnan language family, one of the eight major language families of Chinese dialect. It is rich in vocabulary, humorous and expressive, and retains many elements of ancient Chinese, so it has attracted more and more linguists' attention and spread widely all over the world. Chaoshan dialect has its own dictionary "Chaoshan Dictionary" and other local language monographs, such as "Yu Chao Wu Yin".
