After 1949, the Beijing Crosstalk Reform Group was established to eliminate the unhealthy elements of traditional crosstalk, purify the language, and better utilize its humorous and changeable, implicit and concise, simple and noble, bright and sharp artistic strengths. Crosstalk performance methods are divided into three types: stand-up, dialogue, and group work. These art forms may overlap from time to time in specific applications. A cross talk consists of several parts: "pad words", "ladle handle", "live" and "bottom". It is a common performance in which one person is amusing and the other is applauding.
