Lin (surname)

Lin Xiangru (329 BC-259 BC) was a noble man of Zhao in the Warring States Period and now a native of Quyang, Hebei Province. He said that he was a native of Linfen, Shanxi Province, a courtier of Miao Xian, the eunuch leader of Zhao State, and a famous politician and diplomat during the Warring States Period. According to Records of the Historian, Biographies of Lian Po and Biographies of Lin Xiangru, there are three most important events in his life, namely, returning to Zhao in perfect condition, meeting at Mianchi and offering a humble apology.

Lin Xiangru, a native of Zhao at the end of the Warring States Period, was smart, brave and generous. His date of birth and death is unknown. Miao Xian, Zhao's eunuch, is a humble servant. Later, in the two diplomatic activities of "Returned to Zhao" and "Mianchi Conference", with his wisdom and courage, he defeated Qin Zhaowang's deception and safeguarded Zhao's dignity, and was named Shangqing by Zhao Huiwen.

In dealing with the relationship with veteran Lian Po, he put national interests first, regardless of personal grievances, and finally achieved the goal of unity. It shows the noble character of a political strategist who doesn't care about his own honor or disgrace.

In the 21st year (the first 245 years), Wei Fanyang (now the northwest of Henan Province) was captured. When Zhao Daoxiang mourned the king, he took Yuecheng away because he was dissatisfied with his replacement. He also fled to Dewey Daliang (now Kaifeng), but he was not reused and wanted to return to Zhao. The prince of Zhao was trapped in the attack of Qin and wanted to reuse Lian Po, but his emissary was destroyed by Guo Kai, a powerful minister. Lian Po will not be reused by Zhao.
