The organization of "Love Supermarket" originated from the suggestion of a senior. After the senior students graduated, many clothes and books could not be taken away, so some people suggested that the clothes and books to be thrown away should be collected and donated to poor students and needy people outside the school, which Hou Haiyan readily adopted. In June 2006, "Love Supermarket" raised funds for the first time, which was positively responded by college students. In a week's time, more than 6,000 pieces of clothes were raised, filling the six rooms vacated by the school for the "Love Supermarket".

Due to the humid climate in Yichang, thousands of clothes are piled together, which will be moldy after a long time and will be rearranged every few days. Hou Haiyan is often too tired to go back to the dormitory and has to find someone to help. "Whenever this time, someone will consciously use their spare time to help organize. Hou Haiyan, who has been troubled since childhood, feels empathy for the suffering of the people in the disaster area. That oath of love makes her care more about the people in the disaster area than others at this moment. On the afternoon of May 18, Hou Haiyan and the students of Falling in Love with the City walked into the student apartment. "Do you have a mineral water bottle?"
