Why is the donkey so stubborn?

In daily life, we often hear the word "donkey's temper", which is usually used to describe a person's character, without derogatory meaning, or the teaching of the elders to the younger generation. Occasionally, we use this word to refer to people who are unwilling to do as required. Just like the stubbornness of donkeys, they not only can't walk, but even step back.

2. What kind of animal is a donkey? Donkeys are close relatives of horses. All belong to the same genus Equus. Although there are many similarities between the two, the donkey is relatively smaller. We can see domesticated donkeys all over the world. Their ears are long and soft and look much shorter than horses. They especially like living in a dry and warm climate. Most donkeys are grayish brown in appearance and have solid small hooves. Although their limbs look thin, they are actually strong. With super resistance, it is especially suitable for large-scale breeding, and is mostly used as a power animal by human beings, widely used in farming and riding. Although there are some differences in the distribution of the growing environment of donkeys, they also eat some shrubs and desert plants, but in general they prefer to eat grass.

3. Actually, donkey is a kind of special edible species. According to statistics, donkeys need to eat about 2722 kilograms of food every year, and their energy consumption may be as high as 6000 pounds. Moreover, the donkey is also an animal that is not picky about reproduction at all. It often breeds with horses or zebras, and then gives birth to hybrid offspring of two horses. And those offspring obtained through hybridization need to pay the price of almost no offspring. Donkeys also have their own social habits. For traditional animal husbandry, donkey industry is one of its important components. In fact, the donkey species does have a strong social attribute. Because they often live with humans, and a herd of donkeys is usually led by a male donkey. Even if there are several male donkeys in a larger herd, they should follow the natural law of obeying the dominant male donkey. And the combination of these donkeys is not so strong. When they are active in the wild, they often recombine with other new members after being dispersed.

Sometimes, through effective training of donkeys, they can also protect other livestock, and any animal they think may threaten the goal of protecting livestock will be attacked by them. Why is the donkey so stubborn? Objectively speaking, it is very obedient to domesticate donkeys with a long history. They are docile and obedient animals, and only when their surroundings make them afraid will they refuse to get close to what they are afraid of. For example, when there is a sound of animals jumping back and forth nearby, they don't know what animal makes such a sound because of instinctive fear, and then blindly retreat to avoid such fear.

5. Then, why do we humans use donkey temper to describe a person? In essence, it is actually a donkey or a donkey-tempered person who does not follow the requirements of the person who gives orders, and then is labeled as stubborn. Any species needs to mobilize its subjective initiative when doing something. If they are unwilling to act, there must be some objective factors. Therefore, when we feel that someone is stubborn, we might as well stand in its perspective and try to understand their uneasy inner world.
