Analyze the composition of English clauses, what kind of clauses does what lead here, and what part does it occupy in the sentence?
2. The object clause is a kind of nominal clause. A clause that acts as an object in a master-slave complex sentence and is located after a transitive verb, preposition or compound predicate is called an object clause. Object clauses are divided into three categories: verb object clauses, preposition object clauses and adjective object clauses.
Object clauses can be guided by subordinate conjunctions that, where, if, connecting pronouns what, which, who and connecting adverbs how, when, where and why. Among them, the object indicates the object or receiver of the action, often after the transitive verb or preposition.
3. Preposition object clause.
The object clause after preposition usually consists of wh- connection, because most prepositions can't be followed by that-led object clause. Even if there are exceptions, it is limited to some fixed collocations, such as: in that (because), but that (if not), except that (except), save that (except)' except that (except), beyond that (except).
For example:
Whether he can succeed depends on how well he manages.
Whether he can succeed or not depends on his operational level.
Whether we find a joke funny or not depends largely on where we grew up.

He didn't realize what a big mistake he had made.

4. It looks like a complete human finger. Among them, "of" is a preposition, and what looks like the whole human finger is the object of "of", which belongs to the object clause and the subject is "what". This clause means that it looks like a terrible nail.
