Are there people around you who are silent all day long and rarely talk at all?

I have a roommate who is like this. He stays in bed by himself all day long, draws a small curtain, and basically doesn’t talk to anyone.

In fact, I admire such people very much. They are not lonely at all. They are intoxicated in their own world all day long, watching this and that, and the time can pass little by little. I have always felt that she is not like girls our age. Not only does she not talk, but she does not even leave the house. We go shopping or eat delicious food every week, or we make appointments to go shopping in the supermarket. But this roommate never participated and just stayed in the dormitory.

She never goes out if she is not in class. Even the meals are takeaways, and she eats very little, so she only needs a little at each meal. Buying some fruits and snacks can last a long time. It felt like I was on mute when I saw her. Whether she got up or not, it was silent. Sometimes I would tease her with a few words and make jokes, and my answers would be very concise. She can do everything by herself. If it weren't for homework, it seems like we wouldn't be able to integrate into her world.

But she has a quirk, that is, she doesn’t talk during the day, but when she is dreaming at night, she can always talk a lot by herself. Sometimes she can listen to her talk for a long time, which is still scary at first. Later I got used to it. Now that we have lived here for three years, we don’t even know what her home does. We only know that her mother comes to school every month to visit her and buy her some daily necessities. She doesn't make many phone calls at home.

Sometimes I think she is quite invincible, because there are inevitable verbal disputes in the girls' dormitory, but she is not affected at all because she never takes the initiative to talk to us, and we can't find fault with her. On the contrary, sometimes the arguments were so intense that they made her cry. Immediately I felt that this child was too fragile, like a real-life flower in a greenhouse. Unlike the baby, I am so skinny. If I am not allowed to talk for a day, I will feel very uncomfortable.

By the way, my roommate likes to read comics, and I’m still wondering if people who read comics can be so calm. Seeing my irritable personality, I want to read comics to calm down. In my memory, she only went out once, and she went to a comics or animation exhibition by herself. But I saved money for a whole day, and I had no other expenses except food.

Actually, I think whether you are a boy or a girl, it is good to be more cheerful. Just talk about everything. Now that you are in school, your interpersonal relationships and the things you encounter are not very complicated. What if you join the workforce? Even if we usually quarrel more intensely, we will be scared to tears. After work, we will be the scapegoats. So I told my younger brother to talk more at school, don’t be afraid of this and that, and communicate more with classmates.
