In China, when it comes to killing dragons, the first thing that comes to my mind is that "there is the ability to kill dragons, but there is no real dragon in the world". Haha, this is the saying of the adult world. In ancient times, it was said that the emperor was the real dragon emperor, but "dragon" was just an illusory legend, so there were no more people claiming to have "dragon slaying" than you, and many people in the world disagreed. There are many legends and idioms about dragons, such as "Ye Gong loves dragons" and "Cup bow and snake shadow". In a word, dragons are rare.

Once upon a time, there was a fire-breathing dragon that talked about a children's book, so a virtual fairy tale world was built. In the first three volumes, two dragons appeared, ferocious and fierce. So the title of the book is just an introduction to Chinese storytelling. It should be correct. There are many scary dragons in the book-which is different from the auspicious meaning sometimes carried by dragons in our traditional culture in China.

The age group suitable for the whole set of books should be at least students above the third grade of primary school. Although every book in the whole series of Once upon a time there was a fire-breathing dragon is not thick, there are as many as ten books in the whole series. The whole story is full of funny and nonsense, which I think is very suitable for little boys. The novel comes from America, so it also has some American characteristics. The little boy reminds me of the cowboy in the west, full of courage, a bohemian, love of freedom. Teenagers eager to "kill dragons" faint at the sight of blood, which seems to imply that "life can't be smooth sailing"; The experience of killing a dragon by mistake seems a bit "unpredictable"; Going further and further on the road of killing dragons with courage and belief seems to carry forward the "American Dream"-everyone can win success through hard work.

The little boy's life is not as black and white as the fairy tales of princes and princesses, and there are many characters. Needless to say, the little boy thinks that his father doesn't love his mother and his IQ and EQ are not well developed. He always feels a bit like the "silly boy" in Richie Jen's songs. Even when he was leaving home, his brothers and sisters didn't feel sad. They just coveted his clothes and pigs, so it was a bit of a "grassroots counterattack". As usual, there is a princess in fairy tales, but it is not the silly and sweet "Snow White" who wins by beauty. As far as research is concerned, this "dragon slayer" seems to have fewer masters than the Harry Potter magic school. There is a headmaster who cares little about his students, and there are many teachers who are not reliable on paper. What's more funny is that these teachers don't value the boy's talent, let alone give him everything. It's definitely not a bridge between an apprentice and a famous teacher. But it is these plots that make people feel a little real in virtual fairy tales and obviously allude to real life.

For children, I think this book conveys at least a few magic weapons of life in a relaxed and meaningless way:

So he accidentally found that the fire-breathing dragon was taking a bath. He became a hero and defeated the fire-breathing dragon for the second time. I think children don't necessarily need the energy of "although thousands of people will go", but at least they should learn to face their inner fears. Life is hard, and courage is always indispensable in life.

Friendship. In the face of danger and struggle with * * * *, the little boy forged a deep friendship with his royal highness and other friends. Together, they outwit the dragon, rummaged through the library materials to find the "dead hole" of the fire-breathing dragon, and formulated countermeasures to solve the upcoming dilemma. There is a saying in China that "a hero has three gangs", and there is also a famous saying in The Analects that "a threesome must have a teacher". Therefore, the circle is very important. We should help each other "upgrade the strange" with friends, but be careful not to have "pig teammates".

The plots of this set of books are interlocking and climax after climax. Each book is a relatively independent story, but it echoes back and forth, so although the story is long, it is not boring. Matching pictures is also interesting. Black and white pictures vividly depict the ferocious plot of dragons. But speaking of it, I like the map of "Dragon Slayer" in every book best, which makes the topographic map of the whole Dragon Slayer particularly clear. For an instant, I remembered Harry Potter's "marauder's Map". It seems to be a good way for Americans to interpret stories with maps.

Of course, frankly speaking, this set of books is much simpler than Rowling's Harry Potter, but I believe those little boys who dream of becoming men will like it. But there are many names in the whole book, and English-related jokes are difficult to understand. It seems difficult to tell children bedtime stories at night, so that they can remember so many names and explain the "funny" part of the joke. On the other hand, telling such an emotional story at night, I wonder if children will get more and more excited and refuse to sleep, just like beating chicken blood.

A good set of books teaches children courage in nonsense and does not avoid the coldness and helplessness of real life.
