China's diplomacy is a joke.

This is a classic joke. When it's China's turn, you hit me and I scold you.

This is a criticism from some people in China that China's foreign and military policies are "weak". It looks like that, but it's not.

China's last large-scale war took place in the late 1980s, after the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam ended. However, China has taken an active part in anti-terrorist operations in northwest China and even transnational anti-terrorism operations. China can also be seen in various peacekeeping operations. China's military strength is not intangible, on the contrary, it is tangible internationally.

Secondly, in the 30 years before the founding of the People's Republic of China, the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam brought huge political capital to China. The neighboring countries of China and the United States are basically afraid to use force against China, and other countries have no conflicts of interest with China. China's main task in recent years is to vigorously develop the economy and has no interest in some costly and meaningless wars.

Finally, the weakness of China's military diplomacy is relative and unfair. The losses suffered by China now, such as the South Island Reef issue, are all problems left over from history, and international practice is to solve them through peaceful negotiations. For example, Myanmar accidentally injured border people, and there was a similar situation on the US-Mexico border, but even the United States maintained basic restraint. Because border turmoil will lead to the influx of refugees from other countries, bringing other problems and even disasters. Other overseas countries have been treated unfairly, because China's overseas military strength is inherently insufficient and can only be solved through diplomatic channels. Moreover, China's diplomatic solution to these problems will die, which is basically satisfactory.
