Ji 'an City is located in the middle of Jiangxi Province and the middle reaches of Ganjiang River. Topographically, it belongs to the middle of the Luo Xiao Mountains and is the throat passage of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. Geographical location is between 25 58 ′ 32 ″ north latitude and 27 57 ′ 50 ″ east longitude,113 46 ′ to115 56 ′. The whole city is about 2 18km long from east to west and 208km wide.

It is adjacent to Chongren County and Lean City of Fuzhou City in the east, Ningdu County and Xingguo County of Ganzhou City in the south, Ganxian County, Nankang District and Shangyou County of Ganzhou City in the west, Guidong County, Yanling County and Chaling County of Hunan Province in the west, and fengcheng city, Zhangshu City, Xinyu City and Pingxiang City in Yichun City in the north.
