How do mainlanders view Cantonese and Cantonese culture?

I am from Chongqing myself. To tell the truth, I don't know much about Cantonese people and culture. My impression of Cantonese people mainly comes from Weibo. I usually watch news related to Guangdong when I brush Weibo, so I may watch it twice. While watching videos, I may occasionally see some funny comments about Cantonese people.

Let me talk about my first deep impression of Cantonese. I believe many people have heard of the phrase "Cantonese people come to eat Fujian people", which is a very popular "stalk" on the Internet. Of course, this is obviously just a joke. In fact, my previous impression of Cantonese people was that they had a wide range of recipes and could eat some bugs that were difficult for ordinary people to swallow. But because this sentence has greatly deepened my impression that Cantonese people dare to eat anything.

My second impression is about the culture of Guangdong. As far as I know, Guangdong and Hong Kong are very similar, probably because both speak Cantonese, and the refreshments in Guangdong are also very similar to Hong Kong. I think this is because the two cities are geographically close, so there are many similarities in culture. Just like Chongqing, Sichuan and Guizhou have many similarities in food culture, they all like spicy food, and their dialects are similar, so they can basically communicate.

In addition, when I mention Guangdong, I will think of Shenzhen. It used to be a small fishing village, but now it has developed into a prosperous big city. As a city that keeps pace with Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, it is hard to ignore. The salary in Shenzhen is very high, the rent is very expensive, and the pressure of life is great, but there are still many people who go with hope and hope to make a career.
