Today's international strategic pattern has the following characteristics:

1. The world situation is generally stable, with local turbulence.

Overall stability is the mainstream of the world situation. After the end of the Cold War, the international situation has generally moved from tension to relaxation, from confrontation to dialogue. Nowadays, all countries in the world are facing severe challenges in developing their own economies. It has become common sense to vigorously promote economic construction and enhance comprehensive national strength. Although the possibility of world war is getting smaller and smaller, the danger of local war still exists.

Due to historical grievances, pattern changes, ethnic contradictions, religious opposition, power imbalance, external intervention, resource disputes, weapons proliferation and other factors, local wars and armed conflicts have come and gone, and once they became more and more intense.

2. Countries in regions with relatively stable relations between major powers are close to each other.

After the cold war, the development of the world market economy accelerated the process of economic globalization. The improvement of international cooperation makes it impossible for any country to develop its own economy without the world, and gradually reveals a transnational system of production with the world as the factory and the country as the workshop.

In recent years, great powers have restricted each other in cooperation and struggle, so the relatively stable state has not been broken. At the same time, the trend of uniting small and medium-sized countries to strengthen themselves has been obviously strengthened, and some regional organizations have been established.

3. The decline of world armaments is uneven, and building the army with quality has become the main competitive situation.

As the international situation gradually eased, the global arms race cooled down. However, the arms race in some regions has escalated, especially the pace of quality army building in countries around the world has obviously accelerated.

As the direct product of international struggle and the inevitable result of the application of international strategy, the international strategic pattern is composed of international strategic forces. The international strategic force consists of various elements:

First, political forces, mainly political stability, political organization (coordination) and political influence (call);

Second, economic power, mainly including productivity, economic development, economic resource allocation (utilization) and its reserve power;

Third, military strength mainly includes standing military strength, reserve military strength and war mobilization.

Fourth, scientific and technological strength, mainly including scientific and technological development, application and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and scientific and technological inventions;

Fifth, social and cultural forces mainly include social cohesion, the influence of social civilization, and the inheritance and development of historical traditions.
