Injection molding machine joke

(Save it first so as not to be deleted)

Many environmental organizations are promoting garbage sorting. To put it bluntly, the current garbage classification is just a joke.

Garbage classification must be carried out in accordance with local garbage disposal procedures. Talking about garbage sorting without disposing of garbage is simply playing with people.

Some trash cans are divided into recyclable and non-recyclable categories. However, before you know the local garbage disposal procedures, you can't know which garbage can be recycled and which garbage can't be recycled.

For example, which of the following garbage is recyclable and which is not?

Broken glass bottles, cotton rags, red bricks removed from old houses, old rubber shoes, old leather shoes, bones, hair cut from barbershops, old wires, scrap steel, old computer motherboards, lithium batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, zinc-manganese dry batteries, gutter oil, trimming waste from polyurethane sole factory, disposable polystyrene foamed lunch boxes in fast food restaurants, tape paper for express packaging, old wood with nails, BEATS headphones, JB.

In fact, all this rubbish can be recycled or not. The key lies in the local garbage disposal industry.

For example, steel used to be considered as an absolutely recyclable material, especially in China, which has been short of steel for decades. Waste recycling is considered to be an important thing. However, the situation has changed since the beginning of this year. The government cracked down on small steel mills that recycle scrap steel. Most factories that recycle steel are closed, and there will be no recycling market for small pieces of steel. Now the output of steel is thousands of times higher than that in the 1950s, and steel has become an extremely cheap material. In addition to large pieces of industrial waste, there is recycling value, and small pieces of steel will not be recycled.

Most of the electronic wastes have few recyclable materials, but the labor cost of disassembly, sorting and classification is getting higher and higher, and the recyclable materials are getting less and less.

The recycling value of plastic bags is getting lower and lower. Most plastic bags and disposable lunch boxes have no recycling value, because the labor cost is high and cleaning will cause pollution.

Even waste paper restricts the paper industry in more and more fields. With the progress of technology, the utilization value of waste paper is getting lower and lower.

When you put the garbage in the trash can, do you think they will be sorted?

The truth is: in most areas, garbage is actually mixed together and thrown into garbage dumps for further treatment.

Therefore, garbage sorting is generally a self-deception practice.

Of course, there are countries that do a little better, such as Japan, but even in Japan, garbage sorting is not so ideal. Because the disposal of garbage components requires very complicated technology and professional training.

Ordinary people have no ability to sort garbage at all. For example, thermosetting plastics are difficult to recycle, while thermoplastics are easy to recycle, but ordinary people are incapable of making judgments.

For example:

Polyurethane for soles, artificial leather, elastic parts, and some thermosetting polyurethanes, such as most foamed plastics and polyurethane soles. But some are thermoplastic, such as TPU soles. In addition, ordinary rubber has a cross-linked network structure and cannot be processed by injection molding machine, while thermoplastic rubber TPR is thermoplastic. This kind of appraisal can only be done by experts.

Some seemingly similar materials, such as phenolic resin glass fiber reinforced plastic made of glass fiber or epoxy resin glass fiber material, are difficult to recycle, but PVC hard materials, glass fiber reinforced PPR and nylon materials are easy to recycle. Most citizens can't tell the difference. There are many kinds of plastic rubber, including dozens of common ones, which are far beyond the knowledge and ability of untrained ordinary citizens.

I once asked several college students on a university campus in the United States: What is the trash can that says organic? Vegetable and kitchen waste, fallen leaves, cut branches and large pieces of waste wood are all organic, but waste paper seems to count. There are other organic substances, such as cotton, cotton cloth, cellophane made of cellulose, etc., which are not organic substances. If cellophane counts, do you throw polyvinyl alcohol into it as glue? As for other trash cans, if it is paper with composite plastic film, should we throw paper or plastic trash cans? Is the local glass not recyclable? They don't know either. So although there are three or five kinds of trash cans, people still throw them everywhere, and they must be mixed in the end.

In China, scrapped cars can be sold for money. In some countries, people need to be paid to handle it. Automobile disassembly and garbage sorting and recycling are extremely complicated, requiring specialized talents, equipment and venues.

A few days ago, Qingyuan was going to build a garbage incineration plant, which triggered a mass incident. In some places, garbage is more suitable for reclamation. There are several garbage-filled islands in Singapore, and now birds and flowers are singing. Wenzhou and Taizhou in Zhejiang are all surrounded by the sea in a large area, and the garbage in these places should be mixed together, so it is more convenient to take it to fill the sea.

How should the garbage be disposed of? Submerged? Burn? Reclamation? There are practices everywhere. However, there is a trend that less and less garbage can be recycled. Because of the low cost brought by automation and the public's demand for product quality, the cost of large-scale production of glass, plastic, waste paper or steel is far lower than that of recycling.

In some countries, the use of recycled paper is also advocated. For example, many books in Europe and America are printed on rough recycled paper.

Some speakers in Li Zhen advertised that shells are made of recycled waste.

In China, almost all users prefer to buy goods made of brand-new raw materials. No high-end product dares to claim that its products are made of recycled old materials.

The public and the media even condemned gutter oil, waste rubber runways and products made of waste plastics.

China has not really established a garbage sorting industry. High-tech industries such as garbage disposal are often considered as low-end industries.

Before there is a clear garbage disposal technology and process, garbage classification is a joke that wastes people and money.
