Why is the sea blue? The sea does look blue, but when you put it in a glass bottle, you will find it is colorless. Since the sea itself is colorless, how can the sea be blue? However, blue light and green light with shorter wavelength have strong penetration ability. When they are injected into seawater, only a small part of them are absorbed by seawater, and most of them are reflected and scattered around when they meet water molecules or other suspended particles. In this way, seawater absorbs less blue light and reflects much more, and more blue light is returned to the water surface as it goes deeper into the seawater. When these reflected blue lights enter our eyes, the sea we see is blue.
