The Han River Bridge in Seoul, South Korea is the first modern bridge on the Han River. It is a bridge connecting Hangang Road in Yongsan District and Bendong in Dongjak District. It is 36.8 meters wide and 1,005 meters long. It is the earliest bridge across the Han River across Han River Island. It used to be called Han River Highway Bridge and First Han River Bridge. On November 7, 1984, the name of the bridge was changed to Han River Bridge in order to match the road name Han River Road.

The construction of the road bridge of the Han River Bridge began in April 1916, and a groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 27, one month after the bridge foundation work began. After 19 months of construction, it was completed in October 1917. The bridge built at that time was 7.7 meters wide, with a central lane of 4.5 meters and left and right auxiliary lanes of 1.6 meters respectively. The part connected to the land was built with a dam. The actual length of the bridge was 629 meters. Street lights were erected and it became a place for Seoul citizens to walk. The flow of people walking here continued, and the number of suicides by throwing themselves into the river also increased. In order to prevent similar accidents from happening, a slogan with the words "Please stay" was hung on the bridge railings.

The original Han River Highway Bridge was destroyed by floods due to its narrowness and instability. It was later constructed twice in 1930 and 1938. However, during the Korean War, it was blown up in order to prevent North Korea from moving south. Later it was restored again. In 1981, the same 6-hole arch bridge as before was built downstream of the original Han River Highway Bridge, and a 19-hole flat bridge was erected upstream. The bridge was doubled in size and the name was changed to Han River Bridge. This bridge crosses the Han River on the Ministry of Construction's Land Line 1 and is truly the gateway to Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea.
