Tianwang Temple, also known as Sanhou Temple and Sanwang Temple, is located in the southeast of the city. At the foot of the mountain, visitors can climb the mountain and enter the temple along the hundreds of stone steps from the east gate well. This is a group of ancient buildings with exquisite craftsmanship. According to legend, they were built to offer sacrifices to "unify thirty-six people and kill nine thousand Miao people". They served the imperial court and brutally suppressed the Miao brothers. They were respectively made marquises by the emperor and finally poisoned by the court. The temple was built by the three brothers Yang Yinglong, Yang Yinghu and Yang Yingbao, the eighth grandson of Yang Ye in the Song Dynasty.

The Tianwang Temple is not only a model of ancient national architecture, but also a memorial site for the Revolution of 1911. From 1910 to 1911, Fenghuang Miao patriots Tang Lichen and Tian Yingquan established a new national revolutionary regime here - the Xiangxi Military Government, and held celebrations in the Tianwang Temple. In the Tianwang Temple, there are still the creed slogans of the Revolution of 1911 Uprising Army.
