Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is expected to be officially opened to traffic before July 1, 20 18. The final opening date will depend on the construction of port facilities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and the progress of the three governments in discussing cross-border traffic policies.

After the opening of the Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the travel time of Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao will be shortened to 30 minutes. After arriving at the artificial island of Hong Kong Port, Zhuhai tourists can take B5 bus line and arrive at Disneyland in about 25 minutes without changing trains.

The latest news on May 29th: The Transport Bureau of the Macao SAR Government recently held a meeting to publicize the cross-border traffic policy of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to the public.

It is understood that the Macao Port Management Area of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has a border inspection building, an east parking lot and a west parking lot, as well as loading and unloading areas in the west and east areas. After the bridge is opened to traffic, Macao residents and tourists can take public transport or drive private cars to the Macao Port Management Zone. After going through the exit formalities, you can take the port shuttle bus to Hong Kong via the main bridge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. In the future, they can also use cross-border buses, cross-border taxis or cross-border private cars from downtown Macao to Hong Kong through the bridge.

In terms of transportation facilities, there are two parking lots in Macau Port Management Zone, east and west, which are used by tourists and local residents respectively. The East Parking Lot provides 3,000 light vehicle parking spaces for vehicles coming to Australia through the bridge. The west parking lot provides 5 143 parking spaces for light vehicles and motorcycles for citizens to park their vehicles before leaving the country through the border inspection building. At present, two bus lines have been initially planned to connect Macao Port Management Zone, Macau City and Macau.

As for cross-boundary vehicles travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, there will be shuttle buses at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Port, which are divided into two routes. It is estimated that there will be more than 200 trips every day. In addition, Hong Kong and Macao have reached an agreement on the quotas for cross-border buses, cross-border taxis and cross-border private cars.

Customs clearance mode: The bridge will adopt the customs clearance mode of "three places and three inspections". The ports of the three places are established and managed by the governments of the three places, and they are all located in their respective territories. Among them, Zhuhai and Macao adopt the innovative mode of "cooperative inspection and one-time release". These three ports will be cleared 24 hours from the date of opening to traffic.

Traffic speed: According to the engineering design, the designed traffic speed of the main project is 100km/h, and the specific traffic speed will be flexibly adjusted according to traffic conditions, climate conditions, traffic accident handling, traffic control and other factors.

Vehicles: Vehicles that can pass through the bridge mainly include Guangdong-Hong Kong license plate vehicles, Hong Kong-Macao license plate vehicles, Hong Kong single license plate vehicles (with Macao quota), vehicles applying for one-time quota, and other vehicles that can pass through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge through consultation between the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
