400-word diary of a visit to Gutian

We got up early today because our family, uncle, and younger brother were going to visit the Gutian Conference site.

After nearly half an hour’s drive, we finally arrived at our destination. The venue of the Gutian Conference is far away from the meandering Caimei Ridge, close to the Gutian River with clear water, facing the green sea-like rice fields, and backed by the lush Shexia Mountain. The eight big characters of "Gutian Conference will always shine" are shining in red. It jumped into view from a few miles away, like a ball of flames, reflecting the blue sky. Under the big characters, green trees cover an ancient building with cornices and corners, which is the site of the famous "Gutian Conference".

We walked through the road paved with bluestones, but saw a simple building hidden under a group of vigorous old trees. It was backed by towering green mountains and faced rows of green field ridges. It looked so... solemn and solemn. After passing through the cobbled front yard and stepping through the wooden door, we entered the "Gutian Conference" venue. A banner reading "The Ninth Congress of the Red Army of the Communist Party of China" hangs directly above the venue, which seems to take us to that extraordinary meeting in the late 1920s.

We first came to the site where the Gutian Conference was held 75 years ago: a simple table was a podium, a simple blackboard, portraits of Marx and Lenin hung on the wall, and a row of people under the stage. Arrange old tables and chairs. This is the original Wanyuan Ancestral Hall of the Liao Family in Gutian Town, Shanghang County—the Ninth Congress of the Fourth Red Army of the Communist Party of China was held here in 1929, which is the famous Gutian Conference. Walking a few steps further, you can see that the walls are covered with vivid pictures. The most eye-catching one is the large oil painting in the middle that records the Gutian Conference that year. The logo of the "Ninth Congress of the Fourth Army of the Red Army of the Communist Party of China" and the flag of the Communist Party of China are also hung on the wall. There are portraits of Marx and Lenin on the wall. On the wooden pillars are left the rough-edged papers from that year. The slogans "Long live the Communist Party of China", "Oppose opportunism", "Oppose putschism" and "Oppose adventurism" were written. There are several carbon black marks clearly visible on the ground of the meeting place. It snowed heavily during the meeting, and the delegates warmed themselves by the fire while holding the meeting, leaving an unforgettable mark on history. The Gutian Conference Exhibition Hall houses a large number of revolutionary cultural relics. Now these items have become witnesses of history, telling people about the hard life, tenacious struggle and indomitable spirit of the Red Army soldiers in the war years. It is they who exchanged their youth and blood for the wonderful life we ??have today.

We then visited the rooms where the various leaders lived at that time. The left wing contained Mao Zedong’s office during the meeting, and the right wing held Zhu De’s office during the meeting. They worked in two simple rooms with only one table and two stools, reviewed and revised meeting documents, met with delegates, and clarified their doubts. Next to the meeting place, the time, address and main contents of the first nine meetings of the Fourth Red Army were reviewed in the form of pictures. In Comrade Mao Zedong's room, we saw the table where he corrected documents. It was at this table that Comrade Mao Zedong delivered a report on behalf of the front committee. When the commentator introduced the four pillars in the middle of the venue with four slogans, more than 10 spots on the ground were charcoal black, which reminded people that it was winter and the mountains in western Fujian were freezing. The thinly-clad delegates were warming themselves by the fire. The meeting unintentionally left a deep historical mark, which is admirable and thought-provoking. Afterwards, we also visited the ruins of the Fourth Red Army Headquarters and laid flowers to the statue of Chairman Mao.

The red journey of history was created by the revolutionary ancestors, and the red journey of the future will be created by our new generation. We must shoulder the responsibilities entrusted to us by the times, be determined to be ideological, moral, knowledgeable, and physically strong people, and be determined to contribute to the people, the motherland, and mankind.
