Especially in the late 1990s, with the acceleration of agricultural industrialization, giving full play to the rich advantages of agricultural and sideline products resources in our city and relying on the influence of national investment promotion, the food industry showed a rapid development trend. Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the output value of food industry in our city has increased by more than 20% annually. At present, it has developed into an industry with many categories, which can meet the domestic market demand and has certain export capacity. Mainly in the following aspects:

There are a large number of food industry enterprises, accounting for a large proportion of the city's total industrial economy. In 2004, the number of food processing enterprises and individual processing plants in the city grew to 1353, with an output value of 6 billion yuan and a comprehensive processing capacity of agricultural products of1850,000 tons. The number of food industrial enterprises above designated size has grown to 66, with assets of 3.64 billion yuan and industrial output value of 3.38 billion yuan, accounting for 20.4% of the industrial output value above designated size and 35.8% of the local industrial output value above designated size, making it the largest local industry in our city. There are 30 food industrial enterprises with annual sales income exceeding 10 million yuan in the city, including enterprises with annual sales income exceeding 100 million yuan 1 1, national leading enterprises 1, and 5 provincial leading enterprises. The food industry covers a wide range, and the pillar industries have taken shape. At present, the food industry in our city has more than 20 industries, such as grain and oil processing, slaughtering and meat processing, vegetable and fruit processing, dairy products, condiments, instant food, quick-frozen food, beer, liquor, wine and beverage manufacturing. Production and processing enterprises are mainly distributed in towns and villages, and there are also some food industry enterprises in the commercial, grain and agricultural systems. From the enterprise structure of food industry above designated size, it is mainly distributed in seven industries: meat and poultry processing, pig processing, beef cattle processing, dairy products processing, grain and oil processing, cold drinks products and condiments. Animal products processing industry has become the pillar industry of food industry in our city, with an output value of 2.5 billion yuan, accounting for 74% of the output value of food industry above designated size and 15.07% of the output value of industrial above designated size. Among them, there are 15 broiler, duck and goose processing enterprises, with a processing capacity of10.6 million tons and an output value of10.96 billion yuan, accounting for 57.9% of the output value of food industries above designated size. Dacheng Animal Husbandry, the largest animal husbandry, has an annual processing capacity of 34,000 tons, an output value of 500 million yuan and a foreign exchange earning of 40 million yuan through export. Pig and beef cattle slaughtering and cooked food processing enterprises have grown to 1 1, with an output value of 540 million yuan, accounting for 16% of the output value of food industries above designated size. Kaiyuan Furun Company has an annual production capacity of slaughtering 600,000 pigs. Last year, these two enterprises achieved an output value of 265 million yuan and profits and taxes of 20.92 million yuan. Qinghe Hongfu Meat Company has the production capacity of slaughtering 30,000 beef cattle and 0/10,000 sheep/kloc, with an output value of 46.36 million yuan. In the selection of the top 100 liquor enterprises carried out by the National Food Association and other six departments, it ranked 88th. Bamian Town in Changtu has formed four meat and poultry processing enterprises with a certain scale, namely Shengde, Shuguang, Dongquan and Baoxiang, with an annual processing capacity of 25 million meat and poultry and an output value of 450 million yuan. In recent years, the cold drink industry has sprung up in Kaiyuan, Qinghe and other places, and more than 20 cold drink enterprises with a certain scale have been established successively, including Tianqi, Fukang, Li Fei, Xing Shuai and Wuzhou, some of which have invested nearly 100 million yuan, and the cold drink industry can achieve an output value of at least 700 million yuan.

Relying on attracting investment, the food industry has achieved a breakthrough in the construction of large projects. First, in terms of corn processing, Changtu Wanshunda corn starch processing project invested by Shenyang Wanshunda Group has a total investment of 430 million yuan, and two new starch production lines with an annual output of 200,000 tons and a self-provided power plant have been built. The first phase of the project has a starch workshop with an annual output of 200,000 tons and a maltose workshop with an annual output of 654.38 million tons. After the project is put into production, it will process and transform 600,000 tons of corn every year, accounting for 30% of the total corn output in the city. 2. In terms of dairy processing, in recent years, our city has started to build five dairy processing enterprises in Lu Yi, Yangsen, Iceberg, Dongyu and Niuda, with a processing capacity of 6,543,800 tons.
