Biochemistry is the foundation and main component of molecular biology and bioengineering, and it is one of the priority disciplines of life science.

Biochemistry major is one of the newly-established majors in our school, with strong teachers, reasonable curriculum and advanced experimental equipment. During the four years in school, students emphasize the study of basic chemistry knowledge and the training of related experimental skills; In the main courses, in addition to learning the basic biology courses stipulated by the State Education Commission, we also need to master the knowledge and skills of modern biology. Such as: molecular biology, enzyme engineering, protein chemistry, etc. Combined with the production practice, some courses with strong application have been set up, which laid a solid foundation for students to engage in the teaching, scientific research, management and development of modern biology after graduation. The students who graduated from this major have high professional quality and wide adaptability. Nearly half of the graduates are admitted to Chinese Academy of Sciences and key universities every year. Students receive a Bachelor of Science degree after graduation.
