1. The basic situation of retired party members and cadres in our county

There are 1,460 retired party members in our county, and there are 603 retired party members with organizational relationships in the county retired cadres management center. Among them, there are 26 retired party members, 529 retired party members, and 48 party members who left their posts early. It can be said that the team of retired cadres has developed rapidly. In the early days of the establishment of the cadre retirement system in 1982, there were only about 200 retired cadres in county agencies and public institutions. In terms of age, retired cadres are basically between eighty and ninety years old, and most of them are in deteriorating health conditions and have difficulty moving. 2. The current new situation and new problems faced by the ideological and political work of retired cadres in our county

In recent years, the county party committee and the county government have attached great importance to the work of veteran cadres. The content and working methods lack unified norms; fourth, some leaders of retired cadres’ former work units do not pay enough attention to the ideological and political work of retired cadres. They always think that the work of catching veteran cadres is to express condolences during the holidays, and they do not care enough at ordinary times and ignore the retired cadres. Cadres have spiritual needs such as understanding politics and eager to communicate; fifth, the content of ideological and political work of some retired cadres’ party branches is not specific, and often involves more abstract theories and less practical problem solving, which is not attractive to veteran cadres; sixth, ideological Political work methods are not flexible. When some retired cadre party branches carry out ideological and political work, they often simply organize veteran cadres to study documents, listen to reports, collect party dues, and live organizational life. Therefore, the ideological and political work carried out among veteran cadres is not strong enough, deep enough, and ineffective.

3. Adapt to the new situation, expand new ways, strengthen and improve the ideological and political work of veteran cadres

In view of the above problems, it is necessary to continue to practice in future work and explore effective methods .

(1) Integrate ideological and political work into solving practical problems of retired cadres.
