What is a "yellow label car"?

Yellow label vehicle is short for highly polluting vehicle. They are gasoline vehicles that fail to meet the national emission standards, or diesel vehicles that fail to meet the national emission standards. Because it has a yellow environmental protection sign, it is called a yellow label car.

The general difference is that domestic cars are basically manufactured before 1996, and imported cars are yellow-label cars before 1998, but some of these cars can be modified and some can't. Other consumers think that "carburetor car" is "yellow label car". In fact, the green label owners are mainly EFI vehicles and vehicles with three-way catalytic converters installed in carburetor, so carburetor vehicles are not absolutely "not environmentally friendly". Mainly depends on whether these cars are equipped with three-way catalytic converters.

These devices and terminology are very professional, and friends who know cars may be very clear, but how can consumers who know nothing about cars except driving avoid being hurt by "unprofessional"?

The management department of Beijing used motor vehicle trading market said that as long as the vehicle sales contract is signed, the rights and interests of the owners can be guaranteed. Second-hand car trading must sign the Second-hand Motor Vehicle Sales Contract supervised by Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce, and consumers can fill in additional clauses in the contract, such as: a used car brokerage company promises that this car is a multi-point injection model, and if it fails to meet the "green label" requirements, it will return the car unconditionally. So-and-so sells a Jetta produced by 1998, which belongs to carburetor model. If equipped with three-way catalytic converter, it can reach Beijing green standard. If the requirements are not met, the compensation will be 10000 yuan.

If consumers are not clear about vehicle technology and want to buy an economical second-hand car, they can take a friend who knows the technology to choose, consult what they don't know in the market first, and then sign the contract after it is clear, and indicate the matters and time of negotiation between the two parties in the formal contract, so that they can buy the second-hand car with confidence.

From June 5438+1 October1day, 2009, in addition to ensuring the city's production, life and operation, it is forbidden to transport all kinds of yellow label vehicles such as muck on the roads within the Fifth Ring Road of Beijing (including the Fifth Ring Road) all day. On 30th, the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau and the Public Security Traffic Management Bureau of the Municipal Public Security Bureau * * * reiterated the policy content of banning yellow-labeled vehicles in the Notice on the 15th Stage Air Pollution Control Measures, and announced the policy of encouraging the elimination of highly polluting vehicles, which is valid for one year. According to the requirements of the circular, all yellow-label vehicles that ensured Beijing's urban operation were eliminated and updated before June 65438+ 10, 2009, and all yellow-label vehicles were prohibited from driving in the Sixth Ring Road (inclusive) from June 65438+ 10.

"Every time a yellow label car is eliminated, the government will give a reward of up to 25,000 yuan."
