In 1979, the school moved to its current location (now the southern section of Heping Street) and was directly under the Jixi Mining Bureau. It was renamed "Jixi Mining Bureau Middle School" and was named "Jixi Mining Bureau Middle School" by the Provincial Education Commission and the Provincial Government. "One of the first batch of key middle schools in Heilongjiang Province". The school was upgraded from a department-level unit to a department-level unit, and implemented a division of labor and responsibility system for principals under the leadership of the party branch.

In 1986, Jixi Mining Bureau ranked the schools directly under it, and the school was renamed "Jixi Mining Bureau No. 1 Middle School". The principal responsibility system was implemented, and the party organization guaranteed supervision. The teaching and research organization structure will be changed to the academic year department structure, and the academic year director will be concurrently served by department-level cadres.

In 1987, the school established a "sister school" relationship with Beijing No. 8 Middle School. In 1994, the Third Middle School of Jixi Mining Bureau was established.
