Planting method of lettuce

First, the suitable environmental conditions for lettuce growth, when is it suitable for planting?

1) Environmental requirements for lettuce growth

As we mentioned earlier, lettuce is a vegetable belonging to the genus Lettuce, which is particularly similar to lettuce and oily wheat. So lettuce also likes cold, but it is not as cold-resistant as lettuce. The suitable temperature for growth is 15~20℃, the suitable temperature for seed germination is 15~20℃, and the suitable temperature for succulent stem growth is 1 1~20℃.

Lettuce can be planted in the open field or in the greenhouse, both of which have large areas. The approximate planting time of lettuce in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei is as follows:

1, it can be planted in the open field in spring and autumn, sowing in mid-April in spring, transplanting seedlings in early May and harvesting in early June; Sowing in late July, transplanting in mid-August and harvesting in mid-September in autumn.

2. Plastic greenhouses can be planted two crops in advance in late spring and autumn, planted in mid-March in spring and harvested in early May; After autumn, it can be planted in late August and harvested in the middle of 10.

3. Solar greenhouse can plant winter and spring stubble to meet the demand of lettuce in early spring market. However, solar greenhouse has high planting cost and low yield. It is necessary to decide whether to plant this crop according to market conditions.

Second, how to grow lettuce, do you need to raise seedlings?

1) Seedling raising: Lettuce seedling raising is not difficult, and it is simpler than fruit and vegetable seedling raising. Lettuce seedlings are very small, so you can choose 128 hole seedling tray to mix special nutrient soil for vegetable seedling, put it in the seedling tray and press out the sowing hole. Put 1 seed in each hole, cover the soil, then water it with permeable plastic film to keep moisture, and often observe that the plastic film is removed as soon as the seedlings emerge.

2) Transplanting: prepare the soil first, and apply more organic fertilizer as base fertilizer before preparing the soil, and apply decomposed high-quality processed organic fertilizer 1 10,000 kg, compound fertilizer 50 kg, calcium superphosphate 50 kg and boron fertilizer 1 kg per mu. Flip, level and make flat-bed lettuce. Lettuce can be transplanted with equal row spacing, with row spacing of 40 cm and plant spacing of 30 cm. After planting, the seedlings should be watered thoroughly and transferred to normal water and fertilizer management.

Third, how to water and fertilize lettuce, and how to manage succulent stems to make them grow big and good without browning or cracking.

After the lettuce is transplanted, it is usually watered with thin fertilizer to promote the growth of leaves and increase the number of leaves, laying a good foundation for the expansion of succulent stems in the future. This kind of fertilization can use pure nitrogen fertilizer and about 5 kilograms of urea per mu. After that, until the rosette leaves grow, properly control water and squat seedlings to promote root growth, and loosen the soil more during this period.

After the rosette leaves grow, the second topdressing should be carried out. This kind of topdressing should pay attention to the application of potassium fertilizer, which can not only promote the expansion of the stem, but also make the fleshy stem taste better. After that, topdressing N, P and K compound fertilizer 15kg per mu, the succulent stems began to grow rapidly. When the lettuce grows to 30 cm high, borax should be sprayed to prevent the stem from cracking and hollowing.

After one week or ten days, it is decided whether to apply fertilizer for the third time according to the growth of plants and the expansion of fleshy roots. If the proportion of potash fertilizer is increased, 3~4 kg of urea and 6~7 kg of potassium sulfate can be applied per mu.

Lettuce doesn't need to be watered often, but it usually needs to be watered three or four times, that is, after transplanting, after delaying seedlings, and after the rosette leaves grow.
