Recently, the National Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Affairs Office deployed the Guangdong Provincial Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Affairs Department to investigate and deal with prominent issues reported by media reports such as the spread of pornographic and vulgar songs on the National Karaoke App and the ineffective youth model. On October 28, the Guangdong Provincial Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Affairs Office and the Provincial Cyberspace Administration interviewed Tencent and ordered comprehensive rectifications. On October 29, the Nanshan District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen City imposed corresponding administrative penalties on Tencent Music Entertainment (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., which operates "National Karaoke".

My views on the comprehensive rectification of Tencent’s K-pop pornography-related fines are as follows:

1. The APP contains vulgar information.

Some of the hosts in this platform project wear revealing clothes and use their content to induce viewers to buy gifts. Among the short video recommendations on the platform’s homepage, some “dance” videos contain obvious sexual implications. There are songs with obvious vulgar content on the platform. Users can search for relevant resources on the platform. Some users cover songs and adapt more explicit lyrics in the cover audio.

2. The comments in the platform’s comment area contain obscene language.

There is some paid service information, and some accounts divert traffic to vulgar platforms. The youth mode launched on the platform has not played its due role, and vulgar information can still be searched in the youth mode. The above-mentioned behavior constitutes the provision of Internet cultural products containing content that promotes obscenity and harms social morality, and violates the "Interim Provisions on the Management of Internet Culture" and other regulations.

Content security is the lifeline of Internet companies and the bottom line of the Internet industry. The larger the website and platform, the more attention must be paid to the implementation of main responsibilities, strengthening content security management, earnestly implementing responsibilities, and not being a mere formality. We hope that Tencent will learn from this punishment and take more effective corrective measures. At the same time, other Internet companies should also pay close attention to it, strengthen the review of content security, and resolutely cut off the spread of harmful information. We must work together to maintain a healthy and clear cyberspace and return everyone to a pure land.
