Dragon Claw Tower

Dragon Claw Tower, also known as White Tower. It is located on Yuyin Mountain 80 meters north of Tatuo Village, Xiwai Town, Dazhou City, with Zhou River in the east and a stone arch at the mountain pass in the west leading to the bottom of the mountain. It covers an area of ??about 1,500 square meters. The tower has a white exterior with black eaves, a masonry structure, and a nine-level pavilion-style octagonal spire. The pagoda is made of pig iron. The pagoda body is in the shape of an octagonal cone, and the layers are closed upward. Each layer has staggered arch windows. The eaves of the tower are slightly warped and the eaves are very short. They are built with six layers of green bricks. There are arched niche doors on the south, west and north sides of the ground floor. Enter the tower through an archway on the east side. Each floor of the tower is built with wooden floors and wooden railings. Rotate up to the top of the tower. The top is a curved top.

The base of the tower is an octagonal base, with a height of 0.25 meters, a circumference of 28 meters, and a total height of 30 meters. According to research by the cultural relics department, the tower was built during the Tang Dynasty and has a Tang Dynasty style. In the twelfth year of Qianlong's reign (1747), the additional edition of "Dazhou Zhi·Yu Map" already contains a map of Longzhao Mountain. From the cast inscriptions on the pagoda bricks and the inscriptions on the eighth floor beam, we can see that the tower was repaired, decorated and rebuilt in the 18th year of Jiaqing (1813) and the 14th year of Guangxu (1888). The tower was announced as a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Sichuan Province in May 1991.

A solitary peak of Longzhao Mountain stands steeply by the river. "Like a dragon stretching its claws" there is a deep pool at the foot of the mountain, named Longzhao Pool. Looking down at the deep pool, with rippling blue waves and hundreds of boats competing in the water, is fascinating. The ancients wrote a poem praising: Linhe Jade Seal Town is on the riverside, reflecting the wonderful shape of the mountain. A group of clear waves sinking moon souls, Qianxun green waves and dragon scales. The famous writer Guo Moruo climbed up Dragon Claw Mountain in 1937, looked at Phoenix Mountain from afar, and expressed his feelings in writing: "How winding is the Phoenix Mountain, and the dragon's claws want to reach the sky" and chanted this beautiful scene. In 1968, the Daxian Municipal People's Government allocated special funds to repair the rotten wooden stairs from the first to the ninth floors. In 1989, it was officially opened to tourists. In 1994, entrusted by the People's Government of Xiwai Town, Dachuan City, Dachuan Hongsheng Tourism Co., Ltd. exclusively invested in the restoration and reconstruction of the "Chaoyang Temple" on Longzhao Mountain.
