Why is it better to plant soybeans and corn together?

1. Corn and soybeans are planted together. Because of the dense branches and leaves, they cover the ground, which can inhibit the growth of weeds, reduce the evaporation of soil moisture and improve the drought resistance. Soybean roots are parasitized by rhizobia, which can absorb nitrogen from the air and make nitrogen fertilizer. Part of these nitrogen fertilizers can be absorbed by soybeans, and the other part can meet the needs of corn. Therefore, these two crops can flourish together, which is much higher than the yield of a single crop.

In intercropping, corn is usually planted alternately in wide and narrow rows, and soybean is planted in wide rows.
