What does it mean when the pit signal shows a yellow light?

According to Article 331 of the "Railway Technical Management Regulations", when passing a railway crossing, there are three signal lights: red, yellow and green:

1. Red - stop.

2. Yellow - pay attention or slow down.

3. Green - run at the specified speed.

In addition to auditory signals, these three types of signals are visual signals of railway signals: horns, whistles, audio terminals and locomotives and carriage horns.

Extended information:

The visual signals of railway signals are divided into day signals, night signals and day general signals. When fog, storm, snow, etc. occur during the day and the stop signal display distance is less than 1000m, the attention or deceleration signal display distance is less than 400m. When the display distance between the adjustment signal and the driving signal is less than 200m, the night signal should be used.

Only day and night signals are used in the tunnel. It is prohibited to set up red, yellow and green decorative cloths, slogans and lights that obstruct confirmation signals along railway lines and in stations. If equipment that hinders the identification of signal lights has been installed in the station, it should be removed or shading measures should be taken.

Within the designated signal display distance, do not plant trees that may affect the signal display. The railway bureau shall stipulate the treatment measures for trees that affect the signal display.
