Dehong Normal College is a provincial public full-time general higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education and is supervised by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education. , Provincial and state *** construction and management.

The school is located at No. 266, Lahuai Village, Mang City, the capital of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The school was formerly the Dehong Normal School founded in 1978 and was approved by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government in April 1984. , Dehong Education College was established on the basis of Dehong Teachers College. In 2002 and 2005, Dehong Normal School for Nationalities, established in 1955, and Dehong Agricultural School, established in 1958, were fully integrated into Dehong Education College. In February 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Dehong Education College was restructured into Dehong Normal College. In 2016, the state committee and state government invested 800 million yuan to build the school covering an area of ??nearly 1,000 acres.

In September 2016, the school successfully moved into the new campus. In order to upgrade its undergraduate degree, in November 2017, the school successfully won 283.9 million yuan for the Yunnan Province Modern Vocational Education Poverty Alleviation "Short Boards" project and completed the project construction acceptance. In December 2021, the school won the central budget investment project of the Education Power Promotion Project and the comprehensive building construction project of the Dehong Teachers College Internship Experimental Training Center, with a total investment of 101,114.9 million yuan.
