How is the detection situation of the theft of ancient monuments in Hebei 20 years later?
There is a small village in the northern suburbs of Xingtai City called Nanliangshe. The thousand-year-old cypress tree in the west of the village is very dazzling. Under the cypress tree, the villagers erected a commemorative stele, recording the unfortunate history of an ancient statue stele from the Wei and Jin Dynasties that was stolen in 1995.
Nowadays, young people in the village don’t know what the statue stele looks like, but people in the village over 40 years old are deeply impressed by the ancient stele and think that the ancient stele is a treasure of the village. When talking about the bad guys who stole the stele, they all Gritting my teeth with hatred.
In the blink of an eye, it was the eve of the Spring Festival in 2017. On this day, a news spread in the village. The treasured ancient stele that had been stolen more than 20 years ago had been recovered by the Public Security Bureau, so the villagers began to rush to tell each other.
1. Theft of ancient monuments
At around 2 o'clock in the morning on July 20, 1995, Nanliangshe Village, Huining Township, Xingtai County, Hebei Province was shrouded in the summer night. Following several dog barks, the sound of a car motor came from the west of the village. A fellow villager was awakened. Looking out the window, he saw a jeep with a dump truck stopped under the old cypress tree, followed by seven or eight black people. A figure holding a crowbar and other tools was swinging under the old cypress tree. An hour later, the jeep left the village in smoke and dust.
At around five o'clock in the morning, the villagers who got up early discovered that the ancient stone tablet inlaid with blue bricks under the cypress tree in the west of the village was missing. It was okay. The villagers immediately reported it to Huo Dongquan, secretary of the village branch. Secretary Huo came to the scene and saw scattered bricks and car ruts on the ground. He felt that the situation was serious and hurriedly called Lu Xiangui, the village security director and village cultural relics conservator, and ordered him to Report the incident to the township police station immediately.
The news that the Nanliangshe ancient stele was stolen was quickly reported to the Provincial Public Security Department and the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau through the Xingtai City Public Security and Cultural Relics Department. On the morning of July 21, the leaders of the two departments and bureaus immediately issued instructions. In the afternoon, Qian Lanqi, deputy section chief of the Anti-Smuggling Section of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Public Security Department, and the author (who is responsible for security work at the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau) rushed to Xingtai County. After inspecting the stolen scene, they held a meeting with the participation of city and county public security departments, emphasizing that cultural relics The importance requires the local public security department to deploy elite troops to collect clues, especially in Ningjin County, where cultural relic crimes are rampant, to conduct focused investigations to quickly solve the case and recover losses.
2. Thousand-Year Treasures
Buddhism was introduced to China at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty and became popular in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Worshiping the Buddha and re-doing merits became a social trend, and stele enshrining Buddha statues came into being. . The so-called statue stele is a stone carving in which a niche is carved on a stele, mainly a Buddha statue, and the reason for the statue and the name, place of origin, official position and other information of the statue are engraved. Sometimes, portraits of the donors are also engraved. It was popular from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty. Its subject matter and style are generally close to the art of the cave temples of the same period, but the statues are smaller than those of the cave temples, and the carvings generally use high relief techniques and are very detailed.
According to the "Xingtai County Chronicles" published by Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the statue stele in Nanliangshe Village, Xingtai County was originally located in a place called Wei Temple. Because the temple was abandoned for a long time, the ancient stele was buried underground along with the architectural remains. . In the Qing Dynasty, the ancient stele reappeared and the villagers moved it to the Zhenwu Temple in the west of the village. Because the head of the stele is in the shape of a Gui and is engraved with Buddhist statues, it is also commonly known as the "Pavilion Top Shawl Statue Stele".
The statue of Beiyang Buddha
The top of the stele pavilion has been lost, and only the stone pillar remains. The forehead of the stele is 27 cm high, the height of the stele is 120 cm, the width is 78 cm, and the thickness is 21.6 cm. Beiyang is a two-story group statue with the palace as the main body, and there are as many as 18 main and auxiliary Buddha statues. There are two statues on each side of the monument. Including the Buddha statues on the upper part of the stele, there are 27 statues on the stele body. The statues have shapes such as sitting upright, bowing, chanting sutras, leisurely and flying. In the middle and lower part of the stele are the inscriptions. Due to severe erosion, only part of the text can be read intermittently. Among them, "Weina Tan, the great-great-grandson of Taichang Qing Yangzhou (envoy), and Shangzhou Longhong merged, and they lived across the Zhao Kingdom. Chong San, Xuan Jianlang, holding the water of wisdom to wash the heart, and holding the wind of kindness to calm the thoughts. Knowing that there is no difference, the absolute principle must be to set up a meditation room in Jiajian, and lead a hundred people to make a stone statue." It is said: The person who set up the monument. Tan He is an eminent monk of the "Tan" generation. His great-grandfather once served as Taichang Qing and the governor of Yangzhou in the Western Jin Dynasty. He has lived in Zhao State for several generations. The great monk Tanhe has a noble temperament, extraordinary character, insight into all things, and wisdom like water. He can wash away all people's troubles and dirt, love all living beings like a Buddha, and wash away complicated thoughts.
He knew the way of heaven and earth, understood the principles of the world, devoutly worshiped Buddhism, built Buddhist temples, and led more than a hundred believers to build this stone statue. Under the main text of the stele, there is a list of merits of casting stone statues, with Tanhe ranking first. The words "Da Wei Xing Xin You February Guimao Day" are left on the monument. After investigation, including the Northern Wei, Eastern Wei, and Western Wei, the first character of the year name is "Xing", and the only year that is Xinyou is the third year of Emperor Xiaojing's Xinghe of the Eastern Wei Dynasty, that is, 541 AD. Therefore, the statue stele should be a relic from the Eastern Wei Dynasty, more than 1,400 years ago.
The sculpture stele uses high-relief, low-relief and line carving techniques. The technique is superb and delicate, and the content is rich and varied. The font of the statue is vigorous, simple and thick, which is a typical mature style of Wei stele. It is one of the two oldest existing stone inscriptions from the Wei Dynasty in Xingtai City. With exquisite craftsmanship and lifelike sculptures, it is a physical material for studying Buddhist art and history in the Eastern Wei Dynasty. It has important historical and artistic value. In 1982, the Hebei Provincial People's Government announced it as a cultural relic protection unit.
Bei Yang, Bei Yin
However, such an important historical relic was blatantly stolen by daring criminals. Although the public security department has done a lot of work, there has been no progress in the investigation of the case, and the ancient monument has not been heard from since.
3. Report current backlog cases
In late March 2016, an anonymous reporting letter was placed on the desk of Wang Zhijie, Criminal Investigation Detachment, Xingtai City Public Security Bureau, with only a short content A few lines of text say that one summer 20 years ago, Xiao Huazi from Ningjin County stole an ancient stone tablet from under an old cypress tree near Dongjing'an, Xingtai. Detachment Wang graduated from the Hebei Police Academy in 1987 and is a veteran criminal policeman with nearly 30 years of experience in the police force. His professional sense told him that the report content clearly stated the name of the perpetrator, the location of the crime and the stolen items, and was by no means groundless. He immediately informed Deputy Director Jia Chunkui of the Xingtai County Public Security Bureau to investigate the clues.
Dongjing'an was originally a village in Dongwang Town, Xingtai County. Due to the expansion of Xingtai City in recent years, many towns and villages in Xingtai County were placed under Xingtai City. Dongwang Town was placed under Xingtai City Bridge a few years ago. East End. Following the instructions of detachment leader Wang Zhijie, officers from the County Public Security Bureau came to the Qiaodong District Public Security Bureau to find out whether an ancient stone tablet had been stolen in Dongjing Temple more than 20 years ago. They searched through the files of the Public Security Bureau but could not find any records. The police officers did not remember that the ancient monument had been stolen in Dongjing Temple. When they interviewed the old villagers, they shook their heads like playing drums, saying they had never heard of it. Maybe the informant remembered it wrongly, so the police officers expanded the scope of their investigation and went to Xijing'an and Beijing'an in the neighboring villages of Dongjing'an. The results of the investigation were equally disappointing. There had never been any theft of ancient stone tablets here.
Beiyang Buddha Statue
After learning the results of the investigation, detachment leader Wang Zhijie encouraged the police officers not to be discouraged and re-analyzed the report letter with the police officers. Detachment Wang pointed out: In addition to explaining the person, time and place very clearly, there is also another detail: the stone tablet is under an old cypress tree. The investigation confirmed that there are no old cypress trees in Dongjing'an, Xijing'an, and Beijing'an villages, which means that Dongjing'an was not the stolen location, and the stolen location should be somewhere else. Why did the report letter mention Dongjing'an? It is possible that Dongjing'an was separated from The stolen location is not too far away. The criminals must have passed by or stopped at Dongjing'an when they stole the ancient monument, so they were deeply impressed by Dongjing'an. The reporter was most likely involved in the theft at that time. It has been 20 years since the incident. Remember Dongjing'an as the location of the theft.
After listening to detachment Wang’s analysis, the police officers’ eyes lit up. The Wang detachment then instructed to continue to expand the investigation within a radius of 20 kilometers with Dongjing'an as the center. The investigation focused on old villagers and places with old cypress trees. At the same time, veteran officers from the Xingtai County Public Security Bureau were mobilized to recall all the incidents that happened in Xingtai County many years ago. Cultural relic cases.
The police officers divided into two groups and went all the way to the county police stations, and together with the public security officers from the police stations, they visited old villagers in the countryside. Other police officers checked the personnel files at the county bureau, looking for old comrades who had worked in the county bureau. On April 7, the police officer responsible for checking the personnel files discovered that a police officer named Ma Zhenfeng worked at the police station below many years ago and is still at the county bureau.
With the idea of ??giving it a try, Deputy Director Jia Chunkui called Ma Zhenfeng. After learning Deputy Director Jia's intention, Officer Ma Zhenfeng pondered for a moment and said that when he was at the Huining Township Police Station in 1995, an ancient monument was stolen from Nanliangshe. There was an old cypress tree next to the stolen land...
The news was quickly fed back to Captain Wang, who instructed the captain and the county bureau to go to Nanliangshe Village immediately.
Nanliangshe Village is located a little west of the North Ring in the northwest of Xingtai City, almost connected to Xingtai City, and 14 kilometers southeast of Dongjing'an. The police officers saw a large cypress tree standing in the west of the village, with two stone tablets standing under the tree. The smaller stone tablet read "Hebei Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, Name: Nanliangshe Statue Monument, Era: Northern Wei Dynasty. Approval time : July 23, 1982." The big monument is the memorial monument mentioned at the beginning of this article.
The contents of the report letter have been confirmed.
On April 8, the leaders of the Xingtai Municipal Public Security Bureau instructed the Xingtai County Public Security Bureau to immediately file a case and set up a task force on the theft of the Nanliangshe statue. The director and political commissar were directly led by the director and the political commissar. Deputy director Jia Chunkui was the task force leader. Captain Jia Jiancai of the County Criminal Investigation Squadron is in charge of the investigation.
4. Searching for Xiao Huazi
After the task force was established, the investigation work began immediately, and a case analysis meeting was held to study the case. The task force analyzed that it was difficult to collect evidence at the scene of the case and find parties familiar with the case. However, the report letter provided a name of Xiao Huazi, who was from Ningjin, so the task force decided to start looking for this clue. breakthrough.
However, who is Xiao Huazi?
On April 10, Captain Jia Jiancai of the Second Criminal Investigation Squadron led a task force to the Ningjin County Public Security Bureau.
Ningjin County is located 60 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Shijiazhuang. It has developed transportation, frequent business activities and flexible people. As early as the Ming Dynasty, some farmers here began to make money by selling antiques. It is said that in some villages at that time, there was no labor to carry the body when someone died, because the men were all out selling antiques. In the late 1970s, during the country's reform and opening up, some people again focused on cultural relics. They bought, resold, smuggled and stolen cultural relics in Sujiazhuang Town, Dalu Village Town, Sizhilan Town, Xiaoyangzhuang, Dongding and Xiding in the county. After several villages were flooded, many cultural relic cases in Hebei were later related to Ningjin. Together with Xiong County, Anxin and Quyang County in Baoding, it became the key county for cultural relic crimes in Hebei.
When the leaders of the Ningjin County Public Security Bureau learned of the purpose of Captain Jia and his party, they quickly arranged police officers to start with people with criminal records of cultural relics to find out about the person named "Xiao Huazi". Soon several clues came to the Public Security Bureau. This Xiao Huazi is really a celebrity and has some influence in the Ningjin cultural relics circle. After investigation, Xiao Huazi, whose real name is Sun Mouhua, was born in 1968 and lives in Sunyangbei Village, Sujiazhuang Township. He has no legitimate occupation and has been engaged in reselling cultural relics for a long time.
After finding Xiao Huazi, the next task force is to collect evidence of his crime. With the cooperation of relevant departments, the photos and information before the statue was stolen were gathered into the task force. However, no direct evidence of his crime was found. If compulsory measures were taken against Sun Mouhua based only on a report letter, there would obviously be insufficient evidence. How to obtain irrefutable evidence to break through the case still puzzles the criminal policemen of the task force. To this end, the task force held a case analysis meeting. The police officers analyzed that since Xiao Huazi has been engaged in reselling cultural relics for a long time, he has not only engaged in criminal activities once. In order to avoid alerting the enemy, the task force decided to secretly monitor him while continuing to collect evidence of the theft case. If any criminal evidence against him is found, coercive measures will be taken immediately.
In recent decades, cultural relic crimes in China have generally been characterized by group-based gang crimes, violence, modernization, and one-stop theft, transportation, trafficking, and smuggling. Surveillance soon discovered that Sun Hua had a close relationship with Sun Moujun and Sun Mouqiang, and they often went out together. After investigation, it was found that Sun Moujun and Sun Mouqiang were also cultural relic dealers and had participated in the activities of buying and selling cultural relics many times. Sun Moujun, 54 years old, and Sun Mouqiang, 47 years old, are both from Sunyangbei Village, Sujiazhuang Township. The task force analyzed that the three may be members of a cultural relics criminal gang. Judging from the relationship between the three, Sun Moujun is older than Sun Mouhua and Sun Mouqiang. Sun Moujun often points fingers at the latter two, and his status is obviously higher. To them both.
The three people's main contacts with the outside world are some cultural relic dealers in Shijiazhuang, Henan, Baixiang, and Zhangjiakou. Gradually, the outline of a cultural relics criminal gang headed by Sun Moujun and participated by Sun Mouhua and Sun Mouqiang gradually became clear. It is still unknown whether Sun Moujun and Sun Mouqiang were involved in the case 20 years ago. Judging from the close relationship between the three, it is not impossible that they were involved in stealing the statue of Nan Liangshe. The task force decided that in addition to continuing to monitor Xiao Huazi, they would also increase police surveillance on Sun Moujun and Sun Mouqiang, and specifically listed Sun Moujun as a key target.
5. Premeditated robbery of the Tang Tomb
Monitoring shows that since mid-April, the three people have contacted people from Henan and other places many times to buy and sell cultural relics, but no actual transactions have been completed. In early May, the task force discovered that the three people frequently contacted cultural relic vendors in Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. Are they going to do something bad again? The police officers on the task force immediately became nervous. Through other clues, they learned that several people had agreed to go to Sanyuan County in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province to rob the tombs of the Tang Dynasty kings. The clues shocked the task force. Now it seems that Sun Moujun and others are really not a group of petty thieves, but a gangster who often targets important cultural relics such as national and provincial key cultural relics protection units. If this criminal gang is not destroyed, the country's Historical and cultural heritage is always in danger.
The task force quickly formulated a plan to arrest them on the spot when they commit crimes in Shaanxi and make a deal.
In early May, Sun Moujun, Sun Mouhua, and Sun Mouqiang prepared homemade explosives and excavation tools for tomb robbing from Lincheng, Hebei Province, and drove a passenger and cargo vehicle to Sanyuan in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province. County, under the leadership of local tomb robbers, they stayed in a small hotel in Sanyuan County with their accomplices from Inner Mongolia who came earlier. The task force also arrived quietly and notified the local public security department in advance.
Sanyuan County is located in the middle of the Guanzhong Plain in Shaanxi Province, more than 30 kilometers southwest of Xianyang. It is the north gate of the provincial capital Xi'an. It has a long history, profound cultural heritage and many places of interest. The Xianling Mausoleum of Li Yuan, the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty, and the Zhuang Mausoleum of Tang Jingzong Li Zhan (809-827) are located here. This time, it was Zhuang Ling that Sun Moujun and his group chose to rob. Zhuangling is located 15 kilometers northeast of the county and 250 meters east of Chaijayao Village, Lingqian Township. It is a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
Miyuan's voluntary protector
After Sun Moujun settled in, he began preparations for robbing the tomb. However, they felt something was wrong when they came to Miyuan this time. In Lingqian Town, they saw that all the sanitation trucks had slogans saying that everyone is responsible for protecting cultural relics. In Chaijiayao Village, I saw a big sign for the Zhuangling Cultural Relics Joint Defense Office. During the day, they walked around the mausoleum and often saw joint defense team members and patrolling police officers patrolling the mausoleum. Sometimes they even meet villagers who ask them where they are from, which frightens them into lying and claiming that they are tourist spectators. At night, they sneaked into the vicinity of the mausoleum to observe, and found that patrols had been patrolling the soil for about an hour, and crisscrossed flashlights were swaying up and down the mausoleum. They were horrified and disappointed when they saw this. Back at the small hotel in the county town, several people gathered together and believed that it was impossible to install explosives to blast the imperial tomb under such tight security. Let alone robbing the tomb, there was no guarantee that they would be caught if they stayed in Sanyuan for a long time. Personally, I feel like this is not a place to stay for a long time. So we discussed and decided to find another opportunity and work on another day. They quickly checked out of the hotel and scattered back to Hebei and Inner Mongolia.
Considering the attempted robbery by Sun Moujun and his gang, the task force did not arrest hastily, but continued to monitor.
6. Bronze reselling
In the blink of an eye, spring is gone, summer is over, autumn is cold again, and winter is coming.
For several months, Sun Moujun has been resentful about not being able to get a vote in Shaanxi in the first half of the year, so that he was strapped for money and very frustrated. At the same time, he was always looking for opportunities to prepare again. Dry.
At the beginning of December, when Sun Moujun called a man named Dong Mouwei in Shijiazhuang, he learned that Dong wanted to sell several bronze wares. He thought that a business opportunity had come. The next day I went to Shijiazhuang and saw the bronze in Dong's hand. In fact, Sun Moujun didn't do much research on bronzes, but he still pretended to smell them, knock them, and look at them with a magnifying glass. After struggling for a while, he told Dong that the things were good, and then discussed with Dong about how to make these bronzes. Sell ??the stuff and make a fortune.
Dong was also short on money and was worried about not having a chance to exchange money, so the two hit it off. Then Sun Moujun found a buyer in Baixiang County and agreed to complete the transaction in Shijiazhuang on December 12 for an amount of more than 400,000 yuan.
Bronze ware is a cultural relic prohibited from trading by the state. The "Cultural Relics Protection Law" stipulates that reselling cultural relics prohibited by the state for the purpose of profit shall be investigated for criminal liability in accordance with the law.
In the second half of 2016, the Hebei Provincial Public Security Department launched a special operation to crack down on cultural relics crimes and listed the case as a provincial supervision case. After consulting the leaders of the county bureau, the task force decided to take advantage of the opportunity they had to close the deal. , destroy this cultural relics criminal gang that has been active for many years.
After negotiating the price and transaction time, Sun Moujun started preparations before the transaction. In order to prevent the gangsters from taking advantage of the gangsters, he asked Sun Mouhua and Sun Mouqiang to help, while Dong Mouwei asked for help. Wang and Wang Bo assisted. On December 12, three waves of people gathered in Shijiazhuang. The time for closing the deal came, but the cunning Sun Moujun did not come. He pushed Sun Mouhua and Sun Mouqiang to the front. Sun Moujun was not present, whether to arrest or not, the task force made a decisive decision to close the net even if he was not present.
As a result, Sun Mouhua, Sun Mouqiang, Dong Mouwei, Wang Mou, Wang Moubo and the buyers from Baixiang were caught on the spot in the process of buying and selling cultural relics. When Sun Moujun, who was listening to the news from afar, learned that his accomplice had been arrested, he was so frightened that he fled away.
7. The facts of the case came to light
The task force brought Sun Mouhua and Sun Mouqiang to Ningjin for a surprise trial that day. Several people confessed to the crime of reselling cultural relics, but remained silent on previous issues. In response, the Xingtai Municipal Public Security Bureau dispatched Qi Xiaoqiang, an instructor from the Second Criminal Investigation Brigade, to assist the task force. Instructor Qi is an old criminal policeman who has done pre-trial work for many years. Interrogation is his strong point. He has obtained confessions in many important cases. Through policy attack, he broke through Sun Mouhua's psychological defense line in time, which not only made him confess to stealing from a village in Shaanxi. He also revealed the circumstances of the mausoleum and the theft of the Nanliangshe statue that the task force was looking forward to.
According to Sun Mouhua’s confession: One day in the summer of 1995, Sun Moujun found Sun Mouhua, Sun Moujun and Bian Mouhua from his village, and said that there was an ancient monument in Xingtai County, and he could get it back. Sell ??for money. Over the years, several people have followed Sun Moujun in reselling antiques, but they have only done it in a small way and have not made much money. This time they heard that they could make money, their eyes lit up, and they seemed extremely excited. After a short preparation, they rented two jeeps, hung a dump truck on one of the jeeps, installed crowbars and other tools, and gathered eight people including Zhang Mouhe. At around 0:00 on July 20, 1995, Depart from Sujiazhuang and go straight to Xingtai County in the southwest. We arrived at Dongjing'an at 1:30. Since it was dark and we were not familiar with the road, several people came down to ask for directions. Arriving at Nanliangshe Village around 2 o'clock, a car parked outside the village. The people in the car got out and walked. Another car slowly drove to the west of the village under the cypress tree and turned off the engine. Under the illumination of flashlights, several people used crowbars to pry open the bricks on both sides of the statue, and then carried the more than 400 kilograms of the statue onto the rear dump truck of a jeep, stealing this exquisite Eastern Wei stone carving.
When we returned to Sun Yangbei Village, Sujiazhuang, Ningjin County, it was already dawn. Sun sent others home first, and he and Bian Hua drove to the orchard contracted by Bian Hua and dug some There was a deep pit where the statue and stele were buried.
After the Nanliangshe statue was lost, the provincial and municipal police dispatched a large number of police officers to investigate the case. As an area hardest hit by cultural relic crimes, Ningjin County has become the focus of investigation. Sun Moujun and his group have no chance to resell cultural relics. More than 400 kilograms of stone carvings were difficult to transport. For his own safety, the cunning Sun Moujun decided to bury the cultural relics for a long time and take advantage of the opportunity.
In the blink of an eye, in 2002, the contract period for Bian Mouhua’s orchard came to an end, and the village was preparing to re-divide the contracted land. It was unknown whether Bian Mouhua could contract the orchard again. This made Bian Mouhua anxious. He was afraid that the buried stone carvings would be revealed, so he went to Sun Moujun and others to discuss it. They believed that the news of police investigation was over and they could find a buyer.
Sun went to Tianbao East Street in the county seat, found a man named Guo Wen, and asked him to help find a buyer. Guo is nearly 50 years old. He is good at restoring cultural relics and has many interpersonal relationships in the industry.
Hearing that there was a business, he promised to help, and within a few days he told Sun that someone wanted goods. However, when the price was mentioned, Sun became unhappy and the other party only promised to give him a few thousand yuan.
Sun Moujun ignored Guo Mouwen and contacted the buyer again. Finally, I found a Henanese named Xiong Mocheng in Guangzhou. This man was 36 years old and often sold antiques in the Fangcun and Xihu Road areas of Guangzhou. Seeing the photos provided by Sun, Xiong, as a veteran in the industry, knew the value of the stone carving and agreed to buy it. However, seeing Sun's eagerness to sell, he lowered the price hard and settled the deal at a cabbage price of 10,000 yuan.
At this point, the truth about the theft and reselling of the Nanliangshe Statue Monument, which was personally planned and participated by Sun Moujun, was revealed. Sun Moujun was the mastermind of the case. The Xingtai Public Security Bureau issued a wanted order and began an online pursuit. .
8. The national treasure returns to its hometown
However, the statue stele has been resold since 2002. 14 years have passed. Are the cultural relics still there? Where is the buyer Xiong Moucheng?
Based on the information provided by Sun Mouhua, the task force contacted the police in Henan and Guangdong and finally found out the situation of Xiong Moucheng. Xiong Moucheng, 50 years old, is from Chengguan Town, Neixiang County, Henan Province. He has been engaged in the antique business for many years. He has an antique shop in Guangzhou and often travels between Guangzhou, Henan and Beijing to sell antiques.
Beiyang Statue
On January 4 this year, the task force learned that Xiong was doing business in Beijing, so they quickly rushed to Beijing and contacted the local police. At 9 p.m. near Panjiayuan captured him at the hotel.
Xiong is a veteran. During the sudden trial, he always avoided the important and ignored the easy, refusing to admit the fact of reselling Ningjin stone carvings. Captain Qi Xiaoqiang formulated a detailed interrogation plan to gradually destroy the bear's psychological defense. After 20 hours of interrogation, in the face of ironclad evidence, he finally admitted the criminal fact of buying Sun Moujun's statue monument in 2002 and reselling it. .
It turns out that after Xiong got Sun Moujun’s cultural relics, he also thought they were good, but after all they were stolen goods and a hot potato. In 2010, eight years later, Xiong kept them in his hands. It was sold to a friend in Beijing Antique City for 17,000 yuan. Xiong confessed that his friend had kept the statue monument in the store and had not taken action yet.
The police officers of the task force were relieved to learn that the cultural relics were in Beijing, and they followed the clues. On January 11, cultural relics were successfully seized from a store in Beijing Antique City.
This statue stele, which had been stolen for more than 20 years, finally returned to its hometown in Xingtai.
On January 26, 2017, Sun Moujun, the main suspect in stealing the Nanliangshe statue stele, was also captured and brought to justice. Subsequently, the criminal suspects Wang Mouyin, Zheng Moudong, Lu Moujiang and others who participated in the conspiracy to steal Zhuang Ling were also arrested and brought to justice.
A cultural relics criminal group that has been operating in Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, and Inner Mongolia for a long time has been completely eradicated.
