The Use of Nanjing Prison in Jiangsu Province

Nanjing Prison actively promotes the strategy of overall quality construction of prisons, and well implements the prison work policy of "combining punishment with reform, combining education with labor, and transforming criminals into law-abiding citizens". Prisons adhere to fair and civilized law enforcement, implement an open system of prison affairs, and employ social "law enforcement supervisors". Prisons pay attention to the education and reform of criminals, and comprehensively carry out political, legal, cultural knowledge and labor skills education. They carry out labor reform and skills training for criminals through labor processing such as sweaters and clothes, and provide social assistance and education for criminals with the support of more than ten units such as NLD Nanjing Municipal Committee. Prisons pay attention to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of criminals, actively implement the system of "selecting police to talk", set up psychological health guidance centers for criminals and help funds for poor families, and receive legal advice and help from resident legal aid departments in a timely manner. The prison attaches great importance to the cultural construction of the prison area, and has established the multimedia center of the provincial prison bureau and a number of hope art groups, and holds criminal sports games or cultural festivals every year. Prison is a cadre warning education base designated by more than ten departments, including the Political and Legal Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Working Committee of the Provincial Organs.
