Meng Ding's Population Culture

Mengding has jurisdiction over 23 villagers' committees, 249 villagers' groups and a state farm, with a total population of 8 1 000. The town is inhabited by more than 50,000 compatriots from 23 ethnic groups, including Dai, Han, Wa, Jingpo, De 'ang, Lahu and Wa, and the Dai population accounts for 70% of the total population of the town.
