In the winter of 1932, Zhang Guotao, Xu Xiangqian and others led the main force of the Fourth Front Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, which consisted of more than 16,000 people. In December, he arrived in northern Sichuan from southern Shaanxi, joined up with the local revolutionary armed forces, captured Nanjiang, Tongjiang, and Bazhong counties, and opened up the Sichuan-Shaanxi revolutionary base. The base area covers 23 counties and has a population of approximately 6 million.
In February 1933, the First Party Congress of Sichuan-Shaanxi Province and the First Congress of Workers, Peasants and Soldiers of Sichuan-Shaanxi Province were held successively, forming the Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. The Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Soviet Government was established, announcing the formal establishment of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base. The Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Area was called "the second area of ??the Chinese Soviet Union" by Chairman Mao Zedong.

In mid-1979, the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee decided to establish the Nanzheng Memorial Hall of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base, which is also the only memorial hall of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base in southern Shaanxi. The display in the museum is divided into five parts:
First, Xu Xiangqian, Li Xiannian and other revolutionary seniors wrote 19 inscriptions and poems for the museum;
Second, middle Historical relics of the revolutionary struggle carried out by the underground organizations in southern Shaanxi;
3. Historical materials on the activities of the Bashan guerrillas, the 29th Red Army, and the Red Transportation Line;

After the memorial hall is completed, it will become an educational base for carrying forward revolutionary traditions and patriotism and the center of red tourism in southern Shaanxi, opening up the "red transportation line" from Shaanxi to northern Sichuan, together with Hanzhong to Sichuan, Chongqing, and Yan'an. The red tourism network of the tourism ring promotes the healthy and rapid development of Hanzhong tourism.
