In March 2022, some areas of Xiakou Village in Ganyu were demolished.

There are many demolition slogans on many roads in Xiakou Village, such as "relocation policy is fundamental, sincere service is guarantee" and "adhere to the principles of fairness, justice and openness, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the expropriated people". This move marks that the demolition of some areas in Xiakou Village is about to start, and Ganyu New City is already on the way to get through the water system around the city.

The demolition of some areas of Xiakou Village and the extension of Qinshan Road West are all aimed at opening up the water system around the city and revitalizing the land on the west side of Ganyu Gymnasium.
