Second, the historical evolution

The school was founded from a high starting point. 1957. Ulanhu, then vice premier of the State Council and chairman of the autonomous region, was the first chairman (1956- 1968). Yu Beichen, former deputy director of the comprehensive university department of the Ministry of Higher Education, served as vice president. Mr. Li Jidong, an academician of China Academy of Sciences, a famous biologist, a first-class professor in Peking University, and a doctor from Yale University, came to teach and served as the academic vice president.

School 1962 enrolled graduate students, 1978 was identified as a national key university, 1984 was granted the right of doctor's degree,1engineering 1997 was approved as a national key construction institution, and in 2004 it was approved by the people of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. 20 12 was selected as one of the universities in the national "plan for improving the comprehensive strength of universities in the central and western regions" ("one province, one school"), 20 17 was selected as a national first-class discipline construction university, and 20 18 was jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In 2022, it was selected as the second round of national "double-first-class" construction universities.
