What are the wetland birds in Daqing, Heilongjiang?

There are 273 species of birds in Daqing, belonging to 17 orders and 48 families.

In spring and autumn, a large number of migratory birds migrate through this area, and the breeding areas of some species extend beyond the northeast to Siberia. Basically, they are summer migratory birds or travelers, and generally migrate back and forth from north to south along the monsoon region in eastern China with seasonal changes.

There are about 150 species of migratory birds in Daqing, 80 species in summer and 30 species in winter.

Because there is no natural barrier, the composition of birds in Daqing area is very close, with the largest number of ducks, snipes and finches.

From the point of habitat, most of them depend directly or indirectly on wetlands, which are widely distributed in Zhalong, Lianhuan Lake, Xiaoheishan Wetland Nature Reserve, Longfeng Wetland, Daqing Reservoir, Honghu Reservoir and other important wetlands, with 75 species of birds.

There are seven endangered species, namely, Aurora crows, red-crowned cranes, white cranes, white storks, oriental storks, golden eagles, bustard and so on.

There are 44 species of national second-class protected birds, such as white spoonbill, swan, cygnet, grey crane, demoiselle crane, mandarin duck, hairy-footed owl, common owl, Heilongjiang falcon and kestrel.
