Scavengers in KFC fast food restaurants

Yesterday afternoon, I took a break at a McDonald’s restaurant on Xiaogang Road, Guangzhou.

I ordered a latte and some chicken wings. I sipped it slowly and carefully. The coffee was fragrant and silky, and tasted quite good.

I looked up and saw a poster on the wall. A Chinese farmer was carrying a frame of fresh coffee beans with a face filled with joy of harvest. The posters read the slogans "Helping Coffee Farmers Increase Income".

It turns out that the coffee beans of this KFC are produced in Yunnan Province. I never thought that domestic coffee could have such good quality.

Sitting on the table on the other side of the low wall was a man of about sixty years old, dressed as a scavenger, and his clothes were very shabby. The man was sitting on a chair with his head hanging down, closing his eyes and concentrating. The muscles on the man's face were a little tense, and he looked exhausted.

On the small square table are a bottle of jasmine tea and a bottle of Nutrition Express, which he brought with him. This bottle of Nutritional Express is probably his dinner. I think life is really not easy for some people.

On the chair on the other side of the table was a cloth bag filled with miscellaneous things.

The scavenger man occupied an entire table. The waiters who came and went didn't pay attention to him when they saw him, leaving him to rest there.

I think if this was a privately owned restaurant, that person would probably be kicked out.

KFC stores are usually open 24 hours a day. I once had a friend who stayed overnight at KFC.

I think KFC uses coffee produced in China and combines Chinese eating habits to launch some Chinese fast food, which has been integrated into the local culture. And it provides convenience for some homeless people, whether they order food here or not. In this winter, it seems particularly warm and humane.
