14 years later, the main road of East Third Ring Road started the overhaul project again at 0: 00 today. The overhaul starts from the west of Sanyuan Bridge in the north and ends at the east of Minute Temple Bridge in the south, with a total length of 10.86 km. The main project is scheduled to be completed before the end of 10. The third ring road is 48.2 kilometers long, and the last overhaul was in 2003. The traffic volume of this ring road is already saturated, and the aging and damage of the road surface are becoming increasingly prominent. Following the completion of the overhaul of the Northwest Third Ring Road last year, the East Third Ring Road in the bustling business district will also be completely new.

The person in charge of Beijing Urban Road Maintenance Management Center introduced that the total maintenance area was 369,800 square meters, 22 bridges were repaired, and bus stops 12 were built.

The overhaul is bounded by Guo Mao Bridge and divided into two sections. The two sections are divided into six work areas, with the inner ring and the outer ring advancing at the same time, and the order is outer road first, then inner road. Hou Xiaoming, deputy director of the Road Administration Bureau of the Municipal Transportation Commission, said that this overhaul will mainly control road diseases, milling and paving pavements, bus lanes and ruts at entrances and exits, and reinforce anti-collision guardrails and inspection wells to further improve road durability and driving comfort.

The concept of bus priority and green travel has been further reflected in this overhaul. The bus stops and barrier-free systems on the whole line 12 will be upgraded synchronously, bus lanes and bus bays will be comprehensively managed, and lane lines will be drawn while repairing, which will not affect vehicle traffic. At the same time, 1.5 million square meters of isolated bus platform sidewalks have been replaced, and all the outer kerbs have been replaced with granite, which is more durable and firm.
