Laoshanjie geology and landforms

Laoshanjie is named after its dense virgin forest, with an area of ??about 7 kilometers at the top. The original ecological forest in the Laoshan boundary is densely wooded, with obvious vertical distribution of vegetation. The foothills are dominated by coniferous forests, the mid-mountain is dominated by broad-leaved forests and cold bamboos, and areas above 1,400 meters above sea level are shrubs and meadows.

Among them, the mid-mountain area where broad-leaved forests and cold bamboos grow is the most ecologically distinctive. Plants grow here in an obvious hierarchy, with tall broad-leaved forests and low cold bamboos. In one body, the vigorous cold bamboo forms a dense curtain in the broad-leaved forest, and branches weighed down by ice and snow can be seen everywhere. Walking through it, the vast mist blocks the sky and the sun, making it difficult to distinguish between east and west.

There are more than 370 kinds of woody plants in Laoshan Realm alone. Among them, the natural community of Liriodendron tulipifera has the most protection and scientific research value. Rare plants such as concave-leaf Magnolia officinalis are protected as a biodiversity nature reserve.

Jieban Lengzhu is a famous scenic spot in Laoshanjie. It is located in the boundary of Laoshan. It consists of a whole stone slab and a hill of Lengzhu forest. The stone slab is about 600 meters long and 400 meters wide, with thatch growing on it. , there are tens of square meters of exposed smooth stone slabs. On the edge of the stone slabs is the growth area of ??cold bamboo. Its leaves are dense and have not been artificially repaired. The layers of clouds and seas under the mountain are a wonder created by nature.
