Shandong Yellow River Valley is rich in cultural tourism resources, with 4 world heritages, 1 "Jinan Spring and City Cultural Landscape" listed in China World Cultural Heritage Reserve List, 6 national historical and cultural cities, 141 national key cultural relics protection units, nearly 17, immovable cultural relics, 3 human intangible representative list items, 118 national intangible representative list items and 62 A-level tourist attractions. Mount Tai and Qufu are famous at home and abroad for their "three holes" and "the first spring in the world". The wonders of the Yellow River estuary, as well as the newly-born wetlands and wild birds in the Yellow River Delta, are rich and unique cultural and tourism resources, which have become the outstanding advantages for Shandong to promote the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin.

Chloe Wang, director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said that in order to fully grasp the task of protecting, inheriting and carrying forward the Yellow River culture, we will achieve "four highlights".

Promote the construction of linear cultural heritage corridors in the main and tributaries of the Yellow River, and carry out centralized and contiguous protection of key areas such as the Three Rivers and Six Banks of Dongping Lake, the Jinan Baili Yellow River Heritage Belt and the salt industry sites at the estuary. Strengthen the protection of revolutionary cultural relics in the Yellow River basin, and repair and protect the former site of Liu Deng Dajundu Yellow River Command and the former site of yangshan Battle Field Hospital.

Pay attention to the leading role of large projects and scenic spots, improve the working mechanism of project planning and reserve, financing promotion and factor guarantee, and form the development trend of "completing a batch, starting a batch, promoting a batch and reserving a batch". In terms of project selection and reserve, we will do a good job in the construction of key project libraries. At present, more than 2 projects have been reserved, with a planned total investment of more than 57 billion yuan, and 127 projects have been listed as provincial key projects.

In terms of tourism products, the Yellow River Estuary Eco-tourism Zone has successfully established a national 5A-level scenic spot, Weishan Lake Tourism Zone has entered the preparatory list for the establishment of 5A-level scenic spots, 55 provincial-level industrial, recreational and sports tourism demonstration bases have been built along the 9 cities of Yellow River, and 7 Yellow River boutique tourism routes, such as the journey of exploring the source of civilization, the journey of experiencing traditional culture and the journey of the scenery of the great river, have been built, and the development quality of the cultural tourism industry in the Yellow River Basin has been continuously improved.
