The slogan of the New Fourth Army is a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province and a classic red tourism scenic spot.

Slogans of the New Fourth Army in Zhuling Village, Zhangzhu Town, Yixing City. In March 1982, the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government announced it as a provincial cultural relics protection unit.

The slogan was written on August 13 of the lunar calendar in 1946. At that time, the main force of the Jiangsu and Zhejiang Military Region of the New Fourth Army was ordered to withdraw from the Jiangsu and Zhejiang bases across the Yangtze River and north for nearly a year. The Kuomintang government re-established the county, district, township (town) levels of government and the party, military, police, and special organizations in Yili, Taiyi and other areas. The Baojia system was also restored. The "Central Army" and the "Returning Corps" "Continuously "purge" the underground Communist Party organizations and the left-behind armed forces of the New Fourth Army, and persecute the families of cadres and military martyrs.

In order to combat the enemy's arrogance and inspire the people's revolutionary fighting spirit, the New Fourth Army's armed workers team who stayed in the Yinan Mountains, under the leadership of Chen Liping, Zhang Zhiyi and others, launched an arduous struggle against the enemy. Late at night on the 13th day of the eighth lunar month in 1946, five men and one woman from the New Fourth Army's military work team sneaked into the home of Min Yi, a resident of Zhuling Village, and wrote in red paint from right to left on the west wall of the house: "Require the National Government to abolish the secret service. , Release the patriotic political prisoners!" Two lines of large characters were signed: Jiangsu and Zhejiang New Fourth Army. The slogan is 5.85 meters long and 1.30 meters high. The next morning, the large slogan attracted villagers who went to the market to watch and discuss it, which had a huge impact.

After learning of this, the Kuomintang government sent military police to severely torture Min Yida in an attempt to force him to reveal the origin of the slogan. However, in vain, they had to order him to remove the slogan. After Min Yida returned home, he daubed the slogan with yellow mud and passed the test perfunctorily. Soon, as the yellow mud gradually fell off, the slogan reappeared.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the People's Government attached great importance to the protection of the only remaining New Fourth Army slogan in Jiangsu and installed a protective frame. In 2000, the slogan was cleaned and treated to prevent mildew. However, due to years of wind, rain erosion and natural damage, the text of the slogan is now mostly blurred.
