Chongqing Municipal Social Word Management Regulations
Article 1: In order to eliminate confusion in social word usage and promote the standardization of social word usage, these regulations are formulated in accordance with relevant national regulations and in conjunction with the actual situation of this city. Article 2 All social terms used within the administrative region of this city shall comply with these regulations. Article 3: The Municipal Language and Writing Working Committee is responsible for the comprehensive coordination and management of social word usage standards in the city. Government offices (offices), industry and commerce, public security, culture, press and publication, radio and television, education, urban construction, urban management, civil affairs, post and telecommunications, transportation, tourism, public utilities, customs, ports and other departments should be based on Their respective responsibilities are to strengthen the management of social word usage. Article 4 The social words mentioned in these regulations mainly refer to the following schematic Chinese characters and Chinese pinyin for the public:
(1) Official documents, official seals, documents, certificates, contracts, bills, monograms, slogans, Wording on signs, flags, telegrams, prizes, and promotional materials;
(2) Wording on unit names, plaques, and windows;
(3) Streets, roads, stations, ports, Words used on signs in airports and public halls, halls, venues, museums, courtyards, gardens, etc.;
(4) Words used in advertising and products;
(5) Words used in newspapers, periodicals, books, audio-visual products and other publications and film and television screens;
(6) Words used in computer Chinese character information processing;
(7) School education words. Article 5 The use of Chinese characters must comply with the following standards:
(1) The "First Batch Variant Character Collection List" jointly announced by the Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Character Reform Commission on December 22, 1995;
(2) The "Simplified Chinese Character List" was re-published by the National Language and Writing Committee with the approval of the State Council on October 10, 1986;
(3) In March 1988, the "Simplified Chinese Character List" The Committee and the Press and Publication Administration jointly released the "Modern Chinese Common Character List". Article 6 The use of Chinese Pinyin must comply with the following norms and standards:
(1) The "Chinese Pinyin Plan" adopted at the fifth session of the First National People's Congress on February 11, 1958;
(2) The "Chinese Pinyin Plan" jointly issued by the National Education Commission and the National Language Working Committee on July 1, 1988;
(3) Chinese pinyin should be used at the same time, and Chinese characters must not be used. Use Chinese Pinyin alone. Article 7 The following non-standard characters are not allowed to be written, printed or produced in social characters:

(5) The simplified traditional Chinese characters in the "General List of Simplified Characters". Article 8 The lines of characters used in society should meet the following requirements:
(1) When Chinese characters are arranged horizontally, the character order is from left to right, and when the Chinese characters are arranged vertically, the line separation is from right to left;
(2) When foreign-related agencies, groups, enterprises and institutions need to use both Chinese characters and foreign languages ??on plaques and certificates, they should be arranged horizontally, with Chinese characters on the top and foreign characters on the bottom. Foreign characters must not be used alone.
Article 9 The following words do not apply to Articles 5 and 7 of these regulations:
(1) Reprinting or compiling and publishing ancient music books;
(2) Historical cultural relics and relics text or ink marks of historical figures;
(3) calligraphy works of art;
(4) variant characters used as surnames;
(5) "Time-honored" signboards inscribed by celebrities before the founding of the People's Republic of China;
(6) Trademarks that have been registered before the publication of these regulations;
(7) Photocopying and copying in accordance with the law with the approval of relevant state departments Chinese publications published in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and other overseas regions;
(8) Irregular social words that can be postponed according to relevant national regulations. Article 10: Public security, industry and commerce, civil affairs, press and publication, radio and television and other administrative departments should strictly examine official seals, unit names, trademarks, various advertisements, place names, books, audio and video products, etc.
No unit or individual may produce official seals, unit names, trademarks, various advertisements, place names, books, audio-visual products, etc. with non-standard characters without authorization. Article 11 Before the promulgation and implementation of these regulations, the official seal, place names, various advertisements, food, audio and video products, etc. that have used non-standard social words must make corrections within the time limit specified by the relevant departments. If there is difficulty in correctness, the unit using the characters should submit an application for extension of retention to the district, city, or county language and writing committee. After approval, another standardized character can be used in parallel. Article 12 Any unit or individual that violates these regulations and uses non-standard words will be criticized and educated by the municipal or district/county language and writing committee, and ordered to make corrections within a time limit. Those who fail to make corrections within the time limit shall be fined not less than 100 yuan but not more than 500 yuan. If the state has other regulations, those regulations shall prevail.
