There are mainly two kinds of signals to control the servo motor, one is digital signal, that is, pulse control, and the other is analog signal, that is, voltage or current control, usually DC voltage or DC current control.
Direction control is mainly used when pulse control is used:
1, phase a and phase b lead or lag.
2.P+R is the pulse direction.
When analog signals are used for control, standard signals with positive and negative signals are mainly used:-10V-+ 10V or -5V-+5V or -20MA-+20MA, etc. Positive and negative voltages represent the running direction.

The rotor inside the servo motor is a permanent magnet. The U/V/W three-phase electricity controlled by the driver forms an electromagnetic field, under which the rotor rotates. At the same time, the encoder of the motor feeds back the signal to the driver, and the driver compares the feedback value with the target value to adjust the rotation angle of the rotor. The precision of servo motor depends on the precision (number of lines) of encoder.
Functional difference between AC servo motor and brushless DC servo motor: AC servo is better because it is sine wave control and torque ripple is small. DC servo is trapezoidal wave. But DC servo is simpler and cheaper.
