? I don't really believe it.
? In the spirit of inquiry, I bought the book "Positive Discipline" and planned to teach myself first. The book pokes me a lot of pain points, such as: the four R's caused by punishment, which is absolutely accurate! Every time a student makes a mistake, he will admit it on the surface, continue next time, or have an emotional outburst and turn against you directly. After reading the whole book, I deeply discovered new teaching AIDS! Yes, it is a new teaching aid with "kindness and firmness" as the main body. As a supplement to the usual "clear reward and punishment" tool, it is euphemistically called: combining rigidity with softness.
? But with the growth of students, I found that positive discipline in my class is not as magical as my friends said, nor does it solve problems as the book said. What's the problem?
? I decided to explore the answer further and go to class!
Second, experience
? On the day of 520, I found the answer in the circle mother. After attending the parent experience class, I realized that there was still a gap between knowledge and action. Through a series of experience activities, I finally understand that positive discipline is not a supplement to traditional education, but a brand-new way to replace traditional education. Punishment and reward only focus on children's current behavior and solve superficial problems, but not on children's inner needs and long-term quality cultivation. And these, positive discipline has been done.
? Back in the classroom, I began to consciously train myself to use positive discipline tools. In a display activity, different children said the same thing: "I don't want to go up and show." I successfully deciphered the different psychological activities behind the children with the wrong purpose table. With encouragement, each child finally got up the courage to perform English 1 minute. This was completely impossible before!
? I think it's amazing, like a kind of magic. How is positive discipline done?
Third, study.
? It is better to teach people to fish than to teach them to fish. After making up my mind, I signed up for Yao Yiting's parent lecturer certification class and Adler's personal psychology workshop in one breath.
? On the morning of the first day of class on June 8, I was still in a hurry to go to the hotel to delay the time. When I met the elevator, I held the door and rushed in. Just as a very elegant and intellectual beauty came in, I couldn't help glancing at it. On the fourth floor, I found that she actually got off the elevator with me and entered the conference room together? Gee, it turns out that this goddess is our teacher Yao!
? As the only tutor with Adler's psychology background in Chinese community, Mr Yao is the first in Taiwan Province province. She gave everything to each other in the three-day lecturer certification class, and we absorbed it like sponges. Especially in the group-led activities the next day, Mr. Yao carefully explained every detail to us while watching. Our group's "ability giant" didn't rehearse well in advance, which led to overtime. Teacher Yao told us gently and firmly that because this is a core activity and very important, he gave us five minutes. Although she didn't say a word of blame, we were all super nervous. I think Mr. Yao has internalized "kindness and firmness" as a part of himself.
? What impressed me the most was the experience of the jungle. As soon as the curtains are closed, parents and teachers often scold each other in the dark room, interspersed with the child's weak voice: "I am a child, I want to belong." Finally, everyone can't help but burst into tears, recalling those cruel words said to the child and feeling deeply guilty. At this time, the activity ended. As the boss of the gang, Mr. Yao invited these children who did not belong to the gang, and almost all the children agreed! This scene deeply shocked me. In the past, we talked about children who dropped out of school and mixed with society. Except for regrets, they all deserved it. However, if someone can give them a little warmth and sense of belonging, maybe they will be different. Just like at the end of the activity, parents apologized to their children, and all the children immediately forgave their parents.
? A sense of belonging and value is what children need most.
? Some understandings in the previous experience class became clear and organized. Through learning, I know the design purpose behind each activity and Adler's personal psychological concept. However, this is not enough.
Fourth, internalization.
? With the end of the lecturer certification course, the Adler psychology workshop I am looking forward to is here! Positive discipline is based on Adler's individual psychology. If positive discipline is art, Adler's individual psychology is its way.
? In the two-day workshop, Mr. Yao explained how personality was formed from Adler's tree, and then through the analysis of old photos, personal growth stories, early memories, lifestyles, dreams and family constellations, led us to perceive our own private logic and understand what inferiority complex is. The incomprehensible knowledge in the book "Beyond Inferiority" has been internalized in our hearts during two days of vivid explanation by teachers and discussion and sharing in group activities.
? At the end of the two-day course, I feel very full and powerful. I used to like to feel inferior and anxious about my shortcomings, but now I can accept my imperfections and respect my sense of inferiority. I didn't want to face the problem of being born in a family before, and I also put a lot of responsibility on being born in a family. Now, I know that past memories and experiences are not the most important. What matters is how I know it and how I explain it. You know, private logic can be modified, which is a godlike operation! Also, how to solve the problem before, only for superficial behavior. For example, in order to reduce procrastination, I will get up early, but it doesn't work. Get up at 4: 30, and be late for class at 9: 00 ... Now, I know to think with teleology. The purpose of my procrastination is to buy myself enough time to prepare and meet the next thing in a better state. In view of this, Teacher Yao reminded me: Is it more important to be perfect or to wait for the other half? Thinking of this, my procrastination seems to be saved!
? Of all the ideas, one I like best is: encouraging courage. This is also the tool and concept that the orthodox discipline has always advocated. During these five days of study, I gained too much courage from Mr Yao. Let me face the past bravely, think about the existing problems and explore how to make the future better. It also gives me more social feelings, and I am full of expectations for promoting and practicing the discipline.
