Tsinghua University has two standard playgrounds (the kind with a 400-meter track). One is on the east side, usually called Dong Cao; the other is on the west, usually called Xi Cao. There is also a rectangular playground near Zijing Apartment, generally called Zicao.

Tsinghua University, referred to as "Tsinghua", is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the People's Republic of China. As of the end of December 2018, the school had 3,485 teachers, including 1,743 young teachers under the age of 45. Among teachers, 1,381 have senior positions and 1,648 have deputy senior positions. Among the teachers are 1 Nobel Prize winner, 1 Turing Award winner, 51 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 39 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 16 professors who have won the national "Higher Education Distinguished Teacher Award."

167 people were selected as distinguished professors of the Yangtze River Scholars Award Program of the Ministry of Education, 52 people were selected as young scholars, 239 people were awarded the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth, and 152 people were awarded the Science Fund for Outstanding Youth.
